Title: Big T is leaving the building.... Post by: Big T on January 03, 2010, 11:28:09 PM Well after many many years in the corporate world (which has been good to me) I quit my job today and am embarking on a major Sea Change. My partner and I are retiring from the corporate world whilst still young and fit enough to enjoy our retirement.
But not in AUS. We are selling up and moving to the Philippines (yes she is from the Philippines). We shall be travelling for the first 6 months or so round the provinces (7,100 islands) visiting friends and family and looking for our bungalow on a beach to settle in. We aim to live simply and comfortably and do some volunteer in that community to keep us active and give something back for a change. So my next Duke may very well be a Honda 90cc (mmmmmm...... wonder how a CF exhaust will go with a DP ECU [roll] ....). This means my belovered “Sugar S4RT” has to find a new home :'( :'( ...... She will be posted in the for sale section very sooooon..... Also will list all the spares I have as well (man where do you start). Exciting and nervous times ahead. I have absolutely enjoyed all your company, friendship and ride / track days and generally shooting the breeze. I shall miss you all but there will always be a straw mat available for any wayward visitors. Long as you don't mind 6 of us on the 90....... I will be round till about mid March so a catch up drink shall be in order before I leave the building...... Title: Re: Big T is leaving the building.... We'll definitely have a send off, and it will only be a send off in body - I know you'll keep in touch (and provide a great holiday destination when you find that secluded island beachside bungalow!) I was wondering when I saw these 4th of January 2010 pics of the Monster on your Flickr. You know who wants to be her next owner, don't know if the new baby girl can have a new baby girl no.2 You know we are sad :'( to see you leave our shores and to have to sell the Sugar Monster. The new life will be magnificent anything but working would be just wonderful. Of course there will be a send off and defiantly one last ride. cheers Matty... Congrats Trev! I'm sure you'll enjoy your move! Seeing as my girl is also a FIlipina, I spend lot sof time there, and there are some great little beaches! Second... May I suggest Dumaguete, Malapascua, Southern Leyte, or any of the other really cool dive places I have been over the last 3 or 4 years? That way, I can crash on your couch, and then we can dive the next morning (You will be diving, right?) Third - Coffee kinda sucks there, so perhaps send yourself and lovely lady to Mecca or Coffee Alchemy to learn to make a proper coffee, then open a cafe... Hurry - you have less than 2 months!!! Fourth - Ducati *DO* have a presence in PI, lots of Monsters there to choose from :) Z... Ninja edit - Actually, Cabilao Island, in Bohol is the go! Short boat ride from the main island, Satellite interweb at the school in the middle of the island, they *may* have electricity, you can get 3G phone reception (if you climb the right tree) and the wall.macro diving is awesome! MAinly Cebu and Manila, of course, but if there is a presence, it mans oyu can buy one. Servicing may be interesting if you live far form these centers, so it may pay to get a 2 valve and learn to do your own work.
Though, even fi there isn't, the big 4 do also sell their top end stuff pretty much everywhere, though it may be special order in some parts. I know I saw a few GSXR-1000's (current ones) running around in Dumaguete, which is quite a small town, really. Which means the other models should be easy enough to get hold of.
