Title: Squeaky Clutch Lever
Post by: The Bearded Duc on January 05, 2010, 01:50:08 AM
My clutch lever squeaks on release. Any ideas on the cause? And repairs?

I use WD-40 on mine when it squeaks.

Remove the lever, apply grease to the pivot & lever and reinstall. Had the same thing happen to me a while ago. WD40  will only cure it for so long.

What he said.

You asked about the cause.  If you recently washed your bike (including the clutch master) or if you wash it often, cleaning solutions--including standard soap--will work their way into the pivot and start to wash away the lube.  It's not always the culprit, but it might explain where your pivot lube went.
