M1100 rev limit with Termi race kit
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I've read somewhere that the Termi race exhaust (slip ons with air cleaner & ECU) raises the rev limit on the M1100. While I don't bounce the rev limiter anyway (no need, I find short shifting and using the torque satisfying), I'd like to know the new rev limit. Can anyone answer?
BTW, before you tell me to; I did a search and couldn't find an answer.
there's already a thread on this subject in TECH >> http://ducatimonsterforum.org/index.php?topic=33491.0 (http://ducatimonsterforum.org/index.php?topic=33491.0) << although nobody seems to know (or much care) the definitive answer.
Isn't the solution obvious? Go for a ride and service the DMF with the result [thumbsup]
Thanks for the link ungeheuer, guess my search abilities need improving. It's not that important to me either; just curious.
stopintime: I have to wonder how accurate the tach is considering how optimistic the speedo is. Again, not that important, just thought someone might have an "official" number.
just run it up slowly to the limiter. i doubt the tach is too far off.
8,200 rpm according to my tacho....
substantially lower than DP ECU equipped M696. But then again M1100 has the torque to not need to go there ;)
the party lights are the 'hey shift me now' but not the limiter. did you get to the point where it went.... throttle, throttle, SHIT where's the fuel?

Sure did. So OK, the "party over" lights come on at around 8,200rpm and then about 0.5 seconds later at.... lets say 8,257rpm.... the motor starts to gag, cough and splutter.
Do you have the slipon or full system? Wonder if they are different as well?
Thanks for the experimentation ungeheuer. With the crappy weather we have been having here in SE Texas for the past few weeks (either wet all day or unusually cold) I haven't been able to put a lot of miles on my new M1100 (only 300 so far) so I'm not ready to bounce the rev limiter yet. It's supposed to be nice the next 3 days so hopefully I can get some more miles on before the rain moves back in Thursday.
