Title: Ducati..."the perfect attitude adjustment"! Post by: 118811 on January 07, 2010, 06:25:10 PM I know I am lucky to live here in Hawaii!! [thumbsup]
But after two divorces & child support that doesn't stop...money, at least disposable $$$ doesn't ever seem to be enough But just a short blast around Diamond Head, always puts a smile on my face & lifts my spirits!! I have had 7 Porsche 911's, a BMW M3, yeah all ( pre-divorce ) but those never had the affect that my M900 has produced for me. Best 4K I ever spent [bow_down] Title: Re: Ducati..."the perfect attitude adjustment"! Post by: Adamm0621 on January 07, 2010, 06:27:23 PM You mind posting a few pics of the riding there? It's 10 degrees outside right now with snow on the ground and I feel the need to live vicariously through someone else.

[thumbsup]EDIT: I was in Hanauma Bay this past spring for some snorkling. Great twisties for a bike ride around Diamond Head! I was driving in my POS rental car, secretely wishing I was riding... Post by: LA on January 08, 2010, 03:21:12 PM I had some errands to run today right in the middle of the day - 34F high temp. Carhartt jacket, long sleeved shirt and a sweater over a pair of overalls and a pair of gauntlet gloves. It was great. Although run hard, the bike struggled to get over 160F. The air was dense and cold. The tires gripped like glue. The bike pulled like an electric motor, but with that rich cacophony of sound that made Borgo Panigale famous - the V twin Italian opera.
There was some black ice this morning and you gotta pay attention this time of year, but a bright sunny Winter's day in the southern Appalachians is a real treat. God it was great to be alive ...... again. Hadn't felt that alive in a while. [thumbsup] [moto] [drink] LA Title: Re: Ducati..."the perfect attitude adjustment"! Best 4K I ever spent [bow_down] Funny, I got my first bike while going through a divorce. Now the divorce is over and I'm on my second bike (my Duc, yay!) and that ride around Diamond Head is still on of my favorite quick get-aways when I've had a long day. [thumbsup] Title: Re: Ducati..."the perfect attitude adjustment"! Post by: 118811 on January 09, 2010, 10:14:53 AM Funny, I got my first bike while going through a divorce. [thumbsup] Yeah for a quick fix...its Diamond head ( I live on Diamond Head Rd ) ;DBut another fun ride is around Tanatalus, which has a lot of tight twisties, located in the mountains above Honolulu. Thirdly, it is off to Makapuu Lighthouse, as you pass Koko Crator there are a few higher speed leaning turns on the cliffs above the ocean off the eastside of Oahu. I am still trying figure the photo hosting out I do have my flickr acct set up but while on DMF and select the "image" link I get lost :( Title: Re: Ducati..."the perfect attitude adjustment"! Post by: DRKWNG on January 10, 2010, 07:45:20 AM Tantalus is great, but the SD likes that road much better than the SC does. Makapuu is one of my favorite scenic routes here, but you have to hit it so early in the morning to avoid getting stuck behind tourist laden buses. For me, Norfolk is by far the best road on the island. Some great turns and a really good flow to it once you get to know the road. Too bad there seems to be that ever-increasing population of chickens there that always threaten to run straight into your line...

I have heard there is a good twisty in the valley Maunawili by Luana Hills golf course...anyone ridden it? Title: Re: Ducati..."the perfect attitude adjustment"! Post by: DRKWNG on January 10, 2010, 03:00:35 PM No, that's snake road out near Schofield. Norfolk is over where Rick lives, not far from enchanted lakes. But now that I think about it, 13 turns is not far from there either. ;)
