Title: Great Day For A Ride Post by: The Bearded Duc on January 09, 2010, 07:47:15 PM It was a great day for a ride today! Traffic on the PCH was a little much, helped a guy who laid his beamer down in the middle of it all. Headed up towards Malibu and started to get bored so I headed back to Topenga Canyon for some twisties! But alas, traffic again. Who does construction on Saturdays?! Even still, any day on a Monster is a good one!

Phoenix suburbs -- 70 degree winter, sunny, insanely low housing prices. Here are some brand new houses for sale: $99,000 -- 4 Bed, 2 Bath, 2,154 Sq Ft (http://p.rdcpix.com/v02/l3c562b42-m0t.jpg) $99,000 -- 4 Bed, 2 Bath, 2,062 Sq Ft (http://p.rdcpix.com/v01/l2fa97442-m0t.jpg) $99,000 -- 5 Bed, 3 Bath, 2,424 Sq Ft (http://p.rdcpix.com/v01/l67516342-m0t.jpg) Title: Re: Great Day For A Ride Post by: geoffduc on January 11, 2010, 09:41:13 AM arai_speed the bike look's the "DOG'S" and road looks wonderful [moto]
Michael at the price of those homes I think that I'll have to move aswell, over here in the UK a home like the one's you posted would cost in excess of £500,000 and that's in the north west. I'm envious of both you guy's :'( :'( [coffee] Title: Re: Great Day For A Ride Post by: Slide Panda on January 11, 2010, 09:53:20 AM You should. I got a 'deal' on a 640 Sf place in Arlington VA 8 years ago for twice those prices... and I kicked ass for it, especially when it came time to sell.. But those prices bum me out a little... I know if I ever sold my place in Arlington I'd never be able to afford to move back... And all of you in warm weather... HATE! It was 14 yesterday when I got up. So over it... Title: Re: Great Day For A Ride Post by: krolik on January 11, 2010, 10:14:39 AM I got out for a bit of a ride on 1/9. It was in the mid 40's here in Portland, no rain. [clap]
Title: Re: Great Day For A Ride Post by: grunte on January 11, 2010, 10:58:47 AM Yuu,
I am in the same boat. Prices in New Hampshire would be double for the same house in Phoenix. If I ever moved out I would not be able to move back. Title: Re: Great Day For A Ride Post by: The Bearded Duc on January 11, 2010, 12:02:58 PM I went up Angeles Crest Highway...had the whole place to my self. I keep meaning to get up to ACH, who know why I haven't?! Mean looking bike, by the way! I think I may upgrade very soon. Cant decide between the s2r 800 or the new M1100? I guess there could be worse decisions to make in life! Title: Re: Great Day For A Ride Post by: arai_speed on January 11, 2010, 01:23:51 PM Thanks for the compliments fellows! [thumbsup]

[thumbsup] Those are indeed some pretty big chicken strips...super sized actually. I've been humble for a long time now Icon - it's more then just winter and the fires. :) Those days are gone for now....but I still got the pictures ;D (http://i46.tinypic.com/qovawy.jpg) (http://i47.tinypic.com/w89353.jpg) Title: Re: Great Day For A Ride Post by: muskrat on January 12, 2010, 12:57:23 PM 53, sunny and no wind. needless to say I escaped prison and went for a leisurely ride today. first time in two weeks the weather's been good enough around here. [moto]
Title: Re: Great Day For A Ride Post by: Desert Dust on January 14, 2010, 05:35:43 PM 75 degrees and sunny in So Cal, near the Mexico Border. Headed to San Felipe, Baja CA Mex about a month ago with a fellow biker. [moto] It was slightly breezy when we left home. About 50 miles from San Felipe we hit gusts of up to sixty miles per hour. The problem was, there is nothing but sand out there. We continued for about five miles in first gear with absolutely zero visibility. Riding in high winds can be a pregnant dog, but riding in a sand storm is something I will never forget. We turned around and headed back to Mexicali for lunch. Both of our bikes looked like TRASH :'(
I'll look for a more in depth weather report next time I decide to ride to San Felipe. [laugh] That's how I came up with the handle, "Desert Dust." [drink] But desert dust washes right down with a Guinness. [drink] Title: Re: Great Day For A Ride Post by: Bigbore4 on January 15, 2010, 04:04:44 AM It was a great day for a ride today! Title: Re: Great Day For A Ride Post by: Popeye the Sailor on January 15, 2010, 01:59:59 PM It's not all beer and skittle here folks.
I get tired of riding the twisties everyday-the sun gets in my eyes, my gear can get sweaty from the heat. Enjoy your winters! Title: Re: Great Day For A Ride Post by: The Bacon Junkie on January 17, 2010, 06:13:51 PM It was chilly here in SoCal today... 48 degrees this morning.
Still was a great day to ride the Crest, though. ;D CalTrans closed the road behind us, so nobody else was able to get through. There were maybe only 20 or so bikes up there and we had the road all to ourselves! Title: Re: Great Day For A Ride Post by: The Bearded Duc on January 18, 2010, 12:56:29 AM How do you get "bored" in Malibu? The riding is fun the road was boring For some stupid reason I just stayed on the PCH, maybe it's just because I don't know any of the roads up there to hit the twisties. I don't really carry a map either. I know Topenga Canyon(mountain bike riding) so it's familiar riding. I hoping some kind hearted souls here will show me some local rides, went to ACH for the first time early Sunday a.m. with Bacon Junkie and DucofWestwood and that was awesome. |
