Title: My race-replica decal kit is FINALLY on! Post by: Cher on January 10, 2010, 03:10:31 PM Well, after working on this decal set for the last few months, I've finally got it finished. It is the 2007 championship-winning scheme that Casey Stoner had on his Ducati GP bike. The idea is pretty much along the lines of the current Nicky Hayden 848 GP race replica bike. Here's a link to my Picasa slide show (just four pix): http://picasaweb.google.com/concoursmoto/AliceSBK# (http://picasaweb.google.com/concoursmoto/AliceSBK#) I know decal kits are not to everyone's taste, but I'm happy with the result on my bike ;D Title: Re: My race-replica decal kit is FINALLY on! I hear Webspoke got an 848 you can put the bar code on as well. Title: Re: My race-replica decal kit is FINALLY on! Post by: caffeinejunkee on January 10, 2010, 03:24:25 PM Sweet [thumbsup]

are you able to get the white # plate for the front 749/999 with headlight holes? Curious for mine... Also, is there anything out there for the 900SS? Title: Re: My race-replica decal kit is FINALLY on! Post by: Cher on January 10, 2010, 04:20:45 PM Thanks, guys. I can get the white number plate (in fact I bought it for this project but ended up not using it). I'll have to check on the availability of kits for the SS. And I have not forgotten about the other links for kits... ;D Title: Re: My race-replica decal kit is FINALLY on! Post by: webspoke on January 10, 2010, 04:41:46 PM Looks great [clap]

Also, is there anything out there for the 900SS? Not to steal Lisa's thunder and awesomeness but I have a CutGrafix number plate kit for the 999. Twenty bucks says it will fit the 749s too. It has front and rear number plate decals and also includes a front fender stripe kit which is a pregnant dog to put on but looks really cool. Really only wanted the rear number plate when I ordered the kit but they had a package deal going on. Ended up getting a factory 999S rear number plate piece off ebay. Never used the CutGrafix kit. Could be yours... just saying. [thumbsup] Title: Re: My race-replica decal kit is FINALLY on! Post by: junior varsity on January 10, 2010, 06:34:48 PM wow, that's really cool - haven't seen it on yellow before, i don't think. Great choice, its quite tasteful - i always like race-replicas that way - much better than joe-bike-night's design-your-own-flame-vinyl-kit

Title: Re: My race-replica decal kit is FINALLY on! Post by: Cher on January 25, 2010, 03:03:47 AM Ha! Yeah, you know I was actually thinking about having the SBK cylinder heads powder coated in a magnesium color [laugh] [bang]
Seriously though, the 999 is finished with mods (no, really!) so my "winter" project now is to tease out the rats nest that is the a Guzzi Le Mans. Top of the list is sorting ergonomic issues; nothing that can't be fixed with a set of Convertibars, custom Rich Maund seat, and some creative (read, custom fabricated billet) peg relocators... Then there's the whole swapping out of the titanium non-Guzzi slip-ons (WTF?!?!) for the 3,000 pound OEM set *with* factory brackets that don't even come close to lining up with the exhaust hangers I've got now... Awesome. More fabrication... Oh and how could I forget the sorting, cleaning then re-wiring of the tossed salad masquerading as a wiring harness for this bike? There are three entire circuits hacked at random into the main harness that power god-knows-what accessory no longer on the bike... Can you believe this bike often starts? Yea, the joys of pre-owned :o BUT, with any luck at all, I can get the Guzzi ready AND reliable for this year's Hill Country Classic [moto] Thtat's the goal at least ;D |
