Title: Lomo Cameras
Post by: Howley on January 13, 2010, 03:04:32 AM
Does anyone know anything about Lomography cameras?

I'm thinking of buying one, and was just wondering if there was any model that I should be looking for.

Never heard of lomography.  From google, it looks like people around the world get copies of old Russian type film (they say analog  :P) cameras to carry around and take more-or-less random snapshots and then scan them digitally to post on-line.  Might be interesting but I don't get it.

Don't know if it's the kind of thing you're after but Rollei made a sweet little 35mm pocket camera in the '70s with a really nice pop-out Zeiss lens.

Added: You could probably get one of the old Rollei or Ziess-Ikon cameras for around $100-200 and they're way better cameras than what they're selling on the Lomo site - Chinese copies of old Russian cameras........ [puke].
