Going tomorrow with some bhaddys. Not quite sure where, maybe Milestone, maybe Competitive Edge, maybe ?
Anyhow, if anyone on here is interested, let me know and I'll share the deets.
Out of curiosity, who in this tarmac laden arena ever hits the dirt?
I dabble. Mostly LEMX but a few other spots on occasion. Unfortunately, the only thing I suck at more than riding a street bike, is riding a dirt bike.
Contemplating a trip myself, to the MX park or the slopes this weekend
Have fun!
next time, we should suck together. wait, that sounded bad.

cut and pasted....so as to never be deleted ;)
thanks, Joel. Glad I've been immortalized on the DMF in this way.
Although, iirc, I can delete this thread, can't i?

Yes, I believe you can. ;)
damn! wish i read this post earlier. been in OC for about 6mo now and haven't been on the track since i've moved down here :(
(i really don't know where to go - plus i'm kinda lazy to drive the multiple hrs each way to the tracks that i have heard of)
send me a PM next time you're heading out - i usually have firdays and saturdays off.
93 yz250 (doesn't look like much but got it where it counts) + i have a pick-up and ramp(s) if anyone else needs transport.
i used to ride the tracks at Carnegie (in the bay area) a lot and I can't w8 to get my ass kicked by 12yr olds again. lol!
Usual suspects are Competitive Edge and Milestone. Also on the roster is Racetown 395, I5 (rip) and Pala.
Peruse this link, there's quite a bit of info there (or links to more): http://www.dirtwerkz.com/Pages/tracks/Southern_California_Motocross_Tracks.html (http://www.dirtwerkz.com/Pages/tracks/Southern_California_Motocross_Tracks.html)
Not sure when we're going out next, but I'll continue to refresh this demoralizing thread up updates. Would be cool if another 'vintage' 2-stroke was out making noise with me.
anyone going to be at Anaheim 2 this weekend?
Not slated to hit any of the races this year. My bud who usually gets the tickets for all three races didn't buy extras this year. I actually enjoy the races wrapped in my snuggie anyway. [cheeky]
Matt, post up your next ride and we'll get out and suck together. [laugh] My 9yo (my avatar) likes LEMX the best but we've run the park in Adelanto (395?) and she was ok with the mini tracks. It's just a long ride compared to LEMX. The big tracks out there are far superior to LEMX.
...that way you guys can get passed by 9 yr olds on pavement AND dirt!
;D [cheeky]
[laugh] [laugh] [clap] [clap] [laugh] [laugh] [bang]

No kidding, little fockers. That's what I get for getting started late...my ego and confidence handed to me.
I might be down to take out the good old CR 250 next time! Does eneyone out there ride mini moto bike's,you know KLX 110's or even CRF 50's. My friend here in Gardena Has a full on mini motocross track! It's just so sick!

I'll post up next time we're heading to the track. We can smoke up the track together with our 2-strokes. As for mini motos, never done it, but sounds like a hoot. Don't suppose he has a stable of bikes for those without them?
That's right!! Will smoke them with are 2 -stroke's. The power is like a burst of magic! :o Just like my S4.
Short notice, but a few of us are going to be at Gorman MX track tomorrow. Smoke 'em if you got 'em. Will be debuting the newly restored 2001 CR250...pregnant dog looks brand new.
Look for the guy in a slow moving cloud of smoke.
Is Gorman open?
I was under the impression it has been closed for about a year now. A kid died on the track and the state/county pulled the tracks card.
I could be wrong, I usually am! [laugh]
It's open. State run. Only have to pay the $5 per car parking. They groom the track once a week, riders have to water it themselves.
We ended up going to milestone, however, due to my lack of a spark arrestor.
Was a good time. I'm still slow.
That said, I5 is still sketchy.

If you have a State parks pass (alot of people have them around here for beach access) you get in free with that pass.
