Does anyone have any links to some sites that sell devices that recalibrate your speedo?? I know I found it once on the old site but I can't find anything on there anymore. [bang] My speedo is way off and I'm looking for something that you can adjust the signal from the sensor. The bike is an '06 S2R and the speedo reads really low for the speed I'm actually doing.
I think Speedo-healer is one of the devices.
It's unusual that your speedo reads low, how far off is it?
Well the problem is that I have a '02 gauge cluster on a '06 s2r.. My brake rotor has four pegs that the sensor reads off of and the older bikes had six. So when my gauge reads around 40mph, I'm actually doing 60.. (just judging by the traffic).. Since I can't swap rotors I was hoping to just recalibrate.

I confirmed via GPS that my '09 Monster 696 has a speedometer error of +5mph. Pretty much starts at 20mph on up. I know most bikes read too fast at high speeds. But at 75mph, the bike is doing 70 or less.
I'll call the dealer about it. But the question is...can they calibrate a digital speedo? I had a 14T sprocket put in. Ever since then, the bike has been reading fast. Most people have said that changing front sprocket size won't affect the speedo reading. But strange that it started after it was installed. I double checked, the bike is in USA mode.

I don't recollect a model with 6 sensor pins perhaps someone can enlighten me.

On DSS Monsters, the speedo sensor read the 6 rotor bolts.
On SSS Monsters, it reads 4 pegs that are attached to the rear rotor.

Sounds normal to me. The speedo sensor will not be affected by the sprockets. Tire size sure.
Possibly it was always like this, and your just noticing?
696 has the sensor on the rear wheel, reading the 6 rotor bolts, so readings are unaffected by gearing.
I can't believe nobody told you about this, the ducati has an integrated speedo healer! All you have to do is pace a car doing sixty (really sixty) you'll want to pace a car with a calibrated speedo, like say, a cop car... Then you'll want to press the horn button five times for one second, then a sixth time for about five seconds solid. That should do it, the speedo will automatically recalibrate to sixty miles per hour, just like that!!
Once you've done this, please, please....... Tell us how it goes!!!

hey, maybe you were going east checking it one way and going west checking it the other. the rotation of the earth affected the GPS readings [thumbsup]
