What others have you guys used?
Cheers
The first one is from here. http://ducatimonsterforum.org/index.php?board=39.0 (http://ducatimonsterforum.org/index.php?board=39.0)
The second one is RCM.
third one is mine on my 04 S4R. Handpainted in my basement with testors model paint. Looks awesome on the bike.
I've got a desmo world cover on my S4Rs from germany 8) but theres a really neat looking one done by the Coastal Ducati Club in florida [bow_down] that would look the "Dogs" on my hypermotard ;) ;)
[coffee]
I've got an older, not listed SpeedyMoto.
Can somebody make me this? Pleeeeeaaaaaase?

I would think that some one out there has a sticker maker. That would be the easiest way to do it. Maybe I'll look into that.
I see a group-buy coming up [thumbsup]
Somebody start making billet alternator case covers already. There are essentially 4 types.
- Small alternator 2v's,
- big alternator 2V's without opening for sensor (900s & hypermotards as examples),
- big alternator 2V's with opening for sensor (s2r 1000 as example), and
- watercooled bikes.
I don't think there are any others. I'd like this. Would be a good match to the speedymoto clutch case.
like the engine sliders for the jap 4s? that would be nice....
Here's mine. I had the stock cover powdercoated black and then trimmed an Ace Cafe decal to fit. I used some clear automotive-grade 3M paint protector to cover the decal. The dimensions of the Ace decal were about perfect.

Yep. A little more robust than the stock unit, lighter, and better looking. A nice match to the other side's:
Speedymoto version:

I want this for the left side!

That's sweeeeeeet. Why don't we have a DMF version of that?!?!?! Put it on the exhaust sticker type decal and I'd be all over that.

I got one. Will be going on the bike soon. It is extremely light and it doesn't have Ducati on it. [evil]
i better be on your "1st-call" list when you get one for the left side.

how does that compare to the Magnesium?

I'm sure the mag one is lighter. I don't like the mag brown though.

the coating is actually a paintable protectant for the very corrosive mag.

I have seen posts from proud owners of blinged-out polished magnesium... [laugh] [bang] and other posts from frustrated owners wondering why their magnesium bits have turned into white powder and a pitted mess. Aluminum is a nice compromise.

how much is a billet aluminum side case?
round 'bout $450-550

It still won't make up for ugly. :D

kopfjager insists you paint them purple. it will be very unique.

Beautiful piece of work.... cant wait to see it a pic of one fitted. The Evil One is whispering to me about a black anodised one...... So far my resistance is holding up pretty well ;)

I need to find out where you shop. Speedymoto lists it at US$579.95 >> http://www.speedymoto.com/Merchant2/merchant.mvc?Screen=PROD&Product_Code=01-0200CLR&Category_Code= (http://www.speedymoto.com/Merchant2/merchant.mvc?Screen=PROD&Product_Code=01-0200CLR&Category_Code=)
I shop with our vendors here, sponsoring the board.
I try to shop locally more now, at AMS, when I can, but the dealership stocks very few non-Ducati or DP parts (they do stock EVR), so online I goes. As an example, you might look to DesmoWorks - Anthony was clearing out of their stock of SpeedyMoto parts, including some side cases, and also Motowheels members' discounts.
[thumbsup]

Of course we all shop with our sponsoring vendors [thumbsup] I just handed Anthony yet another large wad of $$ via commonwealth motorcycles..... but I missed the speedymoto clearance over at desmoworks.... [bang]
Sato Racing has a picture of the best looking cover I've seen by far tucked in the side of their rearsets (http://"http://www.satoracing.com/rearsetss4r.htm"=) photo. I've emailed them to ask if it is being made but the answer is not *yet*.

That is sweet. Imagine the D in a different colour!

What's wrong with bits saying Ducati? I treasure each and every one of my little elephants that are hidden inside my bike and am saddened when I break a part that had an elephant and the new part doesn't.

Nothing. I just don't like them. I remove them (mfg names) from all my vehicles.
I just use old school logos on my bike. it was a lot cooler before the sportclassic line came out [bang]

Note the crank shaft cover amongst these parts. It's a Speedymoto that I had two-tone powder coated.

I wonder how well the rubber mounts in that top triple will hold up after the PC heat......
The crankshaft cover treatment I like [thumbsup] I may have to steal that idea for the SM crankshaft cover that I have lying around someplace.....

How did the PC do the two tone? Did they razor the black off the raised star, then PC the gold, or tape the star then remove tape and PC the gold?
Do you have a close up of the crankshaft (alternator) cover?

you PC the base color, then after its done, you pc the accent color and wipe off the power with a tack cloth. atleast thats how i do it.
that crank cover is only made for the newer bikes i think they dont have an application list for the odler bikes with that style.

Interesting, I didn't think you could PC over the top of an existing PC coating. I guess you left the back of the piece raw metal to be able to attach electrostatic lead
I was just asking if you had a close up photo, Turns out that even for '07 S4RS Ducati changed the o-ring seal on the back of the alternator cover
I've got a couple of the billet speedymoto clutch side case covers in stock for $399 each - they are anodized black and are new in the package [thumbsup]
did they make matching alt covers? and would you be willing to trade 1 mag cover in exchange for the two?
on your site i only saw the cover for the pre-2001 bikes. did they make em for the newer bikes?

I think they PC'ed the front black and then taped off everything but the star and PC'ed the front gold. Not 100% sure of that, though. I will try to post a close up of it.

PM sent.... lets talk [evil]
The speedymoto side cover is tasty, but why not just get the stock one polished and the logo milled off?
That's what I did, although I now regret not getting the clutch portion with cut outs :'(
As for a DMF cover... let me ask around. Once upon a time you could get these with any logo you wanted (DML, Ducati Monster Challenge, etc.)

The stock piece is not cut from a block of Billet, that's why. ;)
