I am just not used to a bike this quiet. I like to hear a bit more exhaust sound. Also these stock exhaust 'cans' are a bit too big for my taste. Looking for attractive 'slip ons' that do not require me to fool around with the stock ECU settings. Interested more in sound and looks than performance. Don't need expensive titanium, stainless, or carbon fiber. Suggestions or comments please.
MIVV makes some nice stuff. Clean, small and reasonably priced. That small size translates into some noise though. I heard a set on an Aprilia 1000 with the DB killers in. Still kinda loud. Not quite raspy but definitely not that booming low note you get from large carbon cans.

I got these because they were the best looking. Turns out they're the least expensive, too. DB killers can be taken outâ€"your earplugs, however... [evil]

I have the Quat-D oval carbon slips ons. I like the look the best asthey are oval and pretty short...they dont go past the tail. I personally didnt like the ice cream cone looking Termi's. My choice was also based upon a great deal I got on the pipes used, but I was prepared to pay for new.
Others to look at are the Arrow and Two Brothers which I also liked. They are reasonable as far as price.
As far as mapping the ECU, you will not require this as long as you dont change the air filter. That is why the DP kit ( termi) comes with a filter and ECU. Right now our options are limited as far as tuning. As far as I know, Two Brothers juice box is the only aftermarket piece out there. The Power Programmer should be out soon. I also hear that Protune will be out soon. The major issue is that Ducati just switched to Siemens for ECU, and the aftermarket has not caught up yet.
Thanking all for the sage advice. However, none of the slip ons I saw have heat shields. This may not be an issue for a solo rider, but occasionally I carry a passenger. Do the products recommended have some provision to protect the passenger?

If she's hot - give her boots. If not - blame your exhaust for saying no [thumbsup]
(BTW: carbon doesn't get hot)

First thing I do after a cold ride is take my gloves off and grab the exhaust to warm up. No carbon there, either. Not to mention my silencers are much smaller and more out of the way than the stock were, so it would be a bit of a stretch to hold your ankles against them.
