I don't think the folks covered in 6 ft of snow are gonna sympathize with us  ;D

A few more days and we are back to good...they gotta wait til...April or something.... [moto]

I feel your pain! Here in San Diego we have gotten an entire years worth of rain (about an inch or two  [cheeky]) in the last 3 days, and are supposed to get another drenching tomorrow and Friday. I am not excited as the wife is not wanting to get up with me in the morning to give me a ride in the beemer. Thus, I spent possibly the best $16.50 I have ever spent yesterday afternoon on one of those hi-viz yellow pvc rain suits. I got to try it out this afternoon on the ride home and it worked perfectly. I do think I am going to need to add a few more inches of material to the legs as the 28" inseam is a bit short for my 6'1" legs. Stay safe out there guys! Take it slow and keep your eyes open for multi tasking soccer moms in semi trucks.

I'm just looking forward to Saturday.  It's supposed to be mid 40's here.  And while it won't be sunny, the snow/sleet/rain will be gone for the day.   :)

Actually in their defense, after like, 330 days of sun, when it rains, the amount of oil from the car on the road is impressive. Best to not ride in it.

It's just that they are envious...  Then again I did ride in the rain on Tues and the Jack tasted good :)

I have to admit it was more fun taking my FJ for a spin and splashing all the $100k lowered MerBeemers that got stuck in the rain.  That more than made up for not being able to ride

I have tried to ride in rain like this before. It didn't turn out too well. Road was REALLY slippery and I couldn't see the paint. The engine also flooded and died out on me once.  :-[

D*mn..the rain hit us hard in PHX tonight!  Just made it home from work on the bike before the big storm rolled in.  A little while later, we got caught in Target when the electricity went out.  Holy pitch black!!  Had fun hydroplaning all the way home.

I would welcome some cool riding weather with 105 F and 90% humidity on the East coast of OZ ,
most riders you see around here turn to squids with shorts and T's ,
makes the beer  at the end of the ride [beer] taste good though  [laugh]

On the 5 I saw only two riders in the rain; one dude on a Tri 675 with shoes and white socks and another cruiser with a full wet suit. At least you guys have the opportunity to ride; my bike was totalled and I still haven't received a check yet!

Ride safe hombres.

Hey IZ, you're back in Phoenix? I can't keep up with you!

For those with the "wussie" or similar coments, aside from the oil slick problem, which is even dangerous for cars, there is the fact that very few people here in LaLa land know how to safely drive in the rain. When ever it rains I hear tire screaching all day long, both from panic stops and excessive acceloration. The shear ratio of SUV to smal car/motorcycle makes it extremely dangerous, even for those who are experienced riders. I'm not sure you can grasp the danger involved without actually experiencing it.

All the crap is moving east. Here in AZ the annual rainfall is a little less than 8". It's been raining since the 20th and the winds have been gusting to 60mph. Total rainfall at my place so far is around 4". Had to pump out the pool to make more room for rain! They say by the time it passes thru...Sat sometime....we will have seen over 7" of rain and dropped between 6-7 feet of snow in the elevations over 6000'. They closed our only 2 interstates last night due to snow. I10 and I40 closed almost state line to state line!  Good Luck to all the Easterners...it's a real Nino you know.

Just giving you all sh*t!  ;) Like DG said..we're getting hammered here in AZ too. Instant rivers and dangerous conditions all over!   The bike is my mode of transportation so I have no choice but to ride.

Totally, levels the field.

I'm glad I chose these past 2 weeks to work on the bike though, if there was ever a time to put it out of commission that was it.

Meh... rain goes away the next day (and so does the highway it seems)

But here I sit, just outside of DC where they are predicting 20-30 inches of snow by Saturday evening. ungh

Yes, snow is definitely worse than rain. I'm from NY, and having a bike in "winter storage" is a lot more annoying than just having to cover it for a couple days! Hopefully some sun will head your way soon!  [beer]

i love seeing californians whine about weather   [cheeky]

btw, nobody anywhere knows how to drive in rain. none of them look for motorcycles, and thee is always a high ration of SUVs to small cars/bikes.
the only thing that is different is the oil that accumulates due to the lack of rain. for me it gets washed off and only lasts for the first 30 min or so of the storm, for you i would only imagine it takes much longer due to the intervals in rainstorms.
