from the sound I'd say it ran away. :o

sound like they let off the throttle and it revved up with lots of pinging then kaboom.

Wow. That video clip was a metaphor for my day. Humming along quite nicely, then some indication of a problem.....then BAMMM.....all hell breaks out.

Yours too?  Christ what a day.  Two clients decide to act like children and one sub-contractor continuing to act like a child.

I wish I could participate in this but PCNA would have a heart attack.  At one point in time we may have helped a select customer or two by getting them a new engine instead of having to rebuild a bad one.  But you didn't hear it from me. We also haven't done this in years.

i believe that's the 396 that was in the dodge charger, not the 6.5L diesel.  albeit turbo charged..

The 396 was a big block chevy not a mopar.

CAMARO.. fudj, i knew i got that wrong as soon as I typed it and forgot to look it up..  the Charger had 440 i think

For the 6.2L maybe, the 6.5L was pretty decent.  Not a power horse but pretty reliable.

Not with a turbo added though. Which is probably what happened to the engine in question.
