I wish I had a video of it -- but it was a customers real GT40 with a 302-ci sporting Gurney-Weslake heads and four dual-downdraft Webers -- it was intoxicating sounding and the best Ford I have ever heard.  It was goosebumps worthy. (ala BRM H-16 and NOVI)

2nd best was many years ago, a relative of mine put an early 60's four-cam 255-ci Indy engine into his GT40.  Amazing sounding going through North San Diego County on the road or at Riverside (anyone else remember this race track?).  If I could find one of these engines today, I'd buy it and put in something it was that memorable.

things to ponder...
did the camera guy worry about his stuff getting sucked into those intakes when he took that motor close up? for that matter hope they did a search of the shop surrounding it for small objects that could get sucked in there including small children!

... HOW big is that oil tub for the dry sump?!!!

That A/W intercooler is really nice.  Good design for that car.

Too bad they couldn't put a load on it and spool the snails up.

Just in case you're serious, turbos just free wheel (for the most part) at idle.

Agreed. I would love to hear a full tilt high speed run outta that thing!    [evil]

They're in Dallas so I suppose Texas Motor Speedway will have to do.

nothing impressive at all with that car.  forced air induction systems, turbos and superchargers for power are the wussy way to go about things.

naturally aspirated hp is the way to go, get those same numbers from a natrually aspirated engine of the same size and now we are talking...

can't be that hard, heck F1 cars get around 1000 hp with only 3.0 liters, why can't this car?    [laugh] [laugh]

So doing things the more efficient is wussy?

Swap your disc brakes for drums then.

I disagree.

nitrous and water/meth are for poor tuners (instead of putting in the work to tune it right, throw on the NOS and water/meth spray for more pah!)

nothing wussy about forced induction. you have to build a system right to get them to work reliably.

like the old turbo F1 days.. 1300 hp from a 1.5l.. thats the awesome.

more and more I'm a fan of positive displacement superchargers (Lysholm/ Opcon) boost, and right now. but turbos are still fun (and for the street, still offer the fuel mileage advantages of the small displacement engine with power of a bigger motor)

the sound of that 427 on the dyno.. Ohhh..  :o
