Title: CA-Cyclework's Sportbike Shaped Track Tank for Monsters Post by: Travman on January 26, 2010, 05:06:25 AM Does anyone have a picture of CA-Cyclework's sportbike shaped track tank for Monsters on an actual Monster? I would like to see what it looks like mounted.

There was an issue that is being resolved with a current fix available, but final solution pending.
I'm looking forward to grabbing one. Makes the bike have a naked ST shape, essentially, and the cutouts+stomach brace would be very helpful for more spirited riding, such as at the track. I like the look and love the idea of having a little more range and a reasonably priced alternative if my tank ever gets totaled. It definitely gives the bike a heavier profile. Aesthetically, I think this is the best view.

(http://www.ca-cycleworks.com/gallery/index.php?displaypic=Fuel_tanks%2FMonster%2Fmtt43_008.jpg) The tank looks a little too big for my tastes when the headlight fairing isn't used. I've got a DP seat cowl (the big ass carbon one) to bring the back end up visually. Then the front will just look a little... "short" or truncated visually (in my imagination).
I believe he said the IE seats fit up the best to the cut outs in the tank - notice the difference in seat/tank connection from red bike to black bike? I think the red bike has a newer seat (its obviously no IE, based on the alternator case cover shape), and the black bike might also be a carb'd Monster with the regular carb'd seat. I've got one of those on the shelf! Title: Re: CA-Cyclework's Sportbike Shaped Track Tank for Monsters Post by: corey on January 26, 2010, 07:46:31 AM this will not directly fit the FI / 2002+ bikes, correct?
Title: Re: CA-Cyclework's Sportbike Shaped Track Tank for Monsters Post by: junior varsity on January 26, 2010, 07:48:18 AM It would fit, its the internals I think that you'd need to ask Chris about.
I'm saying, you would want the 02+ seat for best aesthetic fit. Title: Re: CA-Cyclework's Sportbike Shaped Track Tank for Monsters Post by: junior varsity on January 26, 2010, 09:48:57 AM Just a little more than OEM says Chris, said he was getting 20-30mi more before the fuel light comes on with the 'track shape'
