Title: Replacing reservoir caps
Post by: cloudseeker on May 29, 2008, 02:58:33 PM

New billet reservoir caps are arriving in the mail tomorrow.  So...question:  Can I replace them just by removing the old ones and putting the new ones on, without having to bleed/replace fluid?  I think so...but would hate to get it in a state where I can't ride it.  I could just wait 'til my 12k service if it's not that simple.

Thanks!

Just take the old off, and replace with the new... As long as you don't drop it with the covers off and dump the brake fluid.  [laugh]

Thanks!

This should be a cool mod (the current caps are kind of corroded).  I just added CRG mirrors and levers yesterday too - way cool.  8)

Well, that was easy!

Over the last two days, I swapped stock mirrors, levers, and reservoir caps for crg hindsight mirrors, crg shorty levers, and billet reservoir covers.  Looks pretty cool now.

Ok, here's an it'll-have-to-do-for-now picture I just took.  Sorry - camera phone with no flash, dimly lit garage:

Levers, mirrors, and reservoir caps are new.

Cool. What reservoir caps are those? Hard to tell from the pic.

Got 'em off of eBay.  Ducati Performance, I guess?

They weren't in original packaging.  They seem to be good quality.  If you want better pictures lemme know.

They look good in those ebay pics. I'll have to see if I can find them in black. Thanks for the link, cloudseeker. Ride safe. [moto]

From the eBay ad:

Product of a UK company who manufactures high performance BMW tuning parts.

Doesn't look like DP to me.

I believe you're right. BMW and Ducati are like oil and water, they don't mix very well. ;D
