Title: car for sale! Post by: enzo on February 01, 2010, 05:51:27 PM but it won't haul pianos.
1995 Toyota Celica GT 2 door, 4 seat hatchback 250,000 miles Clean title Current registration 4 cylinder, 2.2 liter 5 speed 16 valve engine Front wheel drive A/C, heat, fan etc. all work 3 CD am/fm cassette, six speaker stereo Alloy wheels Power windows Power door locks Power sunroof (works, but leaks) Power steering Tilt steering wheel Cruise control Front air bags Car cover Shop manual Service Records New starter New thermostat Engine leaks oil (and it leaks onto the exhaust, so it smells bad after you get off the freeway)--we've tried to get it fixed multiple times, but we can't seem to locate it--, sunroof leaks, driver’s seat and center console has tearing, the ash tray is missing, but interior is otherwise fine with no significant stains. Paint is oxidized on the roof and hood, scratches and dings here and there, but it still runs pretty well and dependably with excellent acceleration, brakes and handling. The clutch is a little squirrelly--idles oddly at times--but seems to be working fine for now. The car has never been in an accident--not even a fender bender. It was my mother in-law's who drove it from Walnut Creek to Fremont everyday for several years, hence the mileage. The heads have been machined as of a few years ago and all the belts and hoses were replaced at that time. I don't take immaculate care of the thing, but I'm reasonable. It doesn't reek of perfume, dog, mold, or incense. Selling because I bought a truck, and I don’t need two vehicles. Priced at $1,200, which is less than half of the lowest Kelly Blue Book value, because, well, that's what I would pay for it. Reasonable offers will be considered. contact evan[underscore]jacob[at]yahoo[dot]com I've included the KBB listing for the car for reference. Fair $2,695 • Some mechanical or cosmetic defects and needs servicing but is still in reasonable running condition. • Clean title history, the paint, body and/or interior need work performed by a professional. • Tires may need to be replaced. (they don’t) • There may be some repairable rust damage. Here are some photos capturing all of the car's "uniqueness and personality": (http://i119.photobucket.com/albums/o131/etoile_polaire/celica/celica001.jpg) (http://i119.photobucket.com/albums/o131/etoile_polaire/celica/celica004.jpg) (http://i119.photobucket.com/albums/o131/etoile_polaire/celica/celica005.jpg) (http://i119.photobucket.com/albums/o131/etoile_polaire/celica/celica006.jpg) (http://i119.photobucket.com/albums/o131/etoile_polaire/celica/celica008.jpg) (http://i119.photobucket.com/albums/o131/etoile_polaire/celica/celica013.jpg) (http://i119.photobucket.com/albums/o131/etoile_polaire/celica/celica014.jpg) (http://i119.photobucket.com/albums/o131/etoile_polaire/celica/celica015.jpg) (http://i119.photobucket.com/albums/o131/etoile_polaire/celica/celica017.jpg) (http://i119.photobucket.com/albums/o131/etoile_polaire/celica/celica018.jpg) Title: Re: car for sale! Title: Re: car for sale! Post by: jimboecv on February 01, 2010, 07:30:41 PM Upright or grand?
Title: Re: car for sale! Post by: Kaveh on February 03, 2010, 02:42:15 PM I rode in the back of that thing with 2 snowboards and a couple of bags all the way up to and back from Tahoe. It is a great deal for that price. It might be even worth it for the MOB to all chip in so that we can make a 'MOB Theme car' then drive it off a cliff?
I'll chip in $25. or someone can buy it and actually drive it. Title: Re: car for sale! Post by: enzo on February 03, 2010, 04:07:08 PM We could drive it off the cliff, but since it's a Toyota, the new owner could still drive it home.

Post by: enzo on February 03, 2010, 05:13:30 PM ...don't forget about the brakes.
Title: Re: car for sale! Post by: Drunken Monkey on February 04, 2010, 10:18:58 PM Wow, you make it sound so attractive. Throw in a dead hooker in the trunk and make it smell like old people and you might actually sell it [thumbsup]
Seriously, it's nice to see an honest car ad. Have you considered trying to pimp it to one of the The 24 Hours of LeMons (http://www.24hoursoflemons.com/) racers? You'd have to drop the price (or be prepared to lie on the bill of sale) but you might find a nibble there. Title: Re: car for sale! Post by: enzo on February 05, 2010, 06:39:33 PM Sold! Now we're "truck people." :P
