And to think, I just passed up a clean 996 for $6k
Take a look at the description

the engine just "blew" ???
i would be interested to find out exactly what went wrong.
he blew the motor and started it again... wth.
talk about being on crack
Whatever you're missing... I'm missing it too. Almost 19k for a 748, with no notable mods to warrant the price and it's noted that the engine's a bit buggered... Um WTF
I think it's worth $18k if no other reason than the custom paint job and the #13 on the front. [laugh]
...and there are two bids that high. I think he's being messed with, both buyers have feed back though. If they were buddies bidding it up for him you'd think they'd keep it within reason so someone would out bid them.
Methinks someone screwed up and this will be re-listed.
agreed, how did two people mess up though? ???
But we'll see it again.
That is total BS wow!. [roll] I bet he's having his friends artificially raise the bid price by bidding from several different accounts.

It takes two bids to get it up there. Otherwise, the current price would be $100 above the last "real" bid.
I think he'll have to file a non-paying bidder report with eBay to get his selling fees back. At least his friends will get a black mark on their account ;D
No a person can bid whatever they like. If you look at the bid history it jumped from $3.3k to 18.5k and then another bidder bid up $100 from there to 18.6k

The 18.6k was bid first on 2/4 but it didn't raise to that level until someone else bid $18.5k on 2/8. At the time the $18.6k bid was placed the auction price was only at $1,350.

Yeah......the owner of the 748 was going to sell it to a guy over on the SVRider.com forums and then backed out. I think some of the guys from over there are F'in with the guy....

You can't just bid a big amount like that. Ebay goes in increments based on the starting price. The reason it may look like someone bid it up that high is that they set a max bid that they were willing to pay. Another guy obviously had his set to just below that 18.5.
i hope he is never able to find a buyer (for painting it so ugly).
See the $14k '92 Supersport?

So, because it came black and white, you think its appropriate to charge... $10,500.00 more than the KBB retail value. ???

That is ridiculous. Maybe is Bayliss left DNA on it or something, but..... :-\
So does this mean I could get that for my 748s?????? :-*

I bet it would trade straight across for a 1098r... you may even get money back. We all know that bikes gain value as soon as you roll them off the floor.
Good thing I missed out on this one........
A non-running yellow bike for too much money - right up my alley [roll]
;D
This is soooooo Cool.... This one runs, can we start the bidding at 22,500.00?

I do like the Breil paint job. It makes sense, they were a sponsor. Weirdo flames... notsomuch.

I missed a '92 w/15K miles on it with the full fairing in Seattle last year for $4300 (IIRC) and it was this clean. Same dark-charcoal color. This dude's smokin' sumptin....
Agreed. I'd love to slap him around a little and then offer him 3.5k
Only the "top" of the engine blew, just like having a flat tire ... it's only flat on the bottom ;)
