Title: What are these hoses for?
Post by: The Bearded Duc on February 08, 2010, 03:03:01 PM
I have two hoses coming from each one of the carbs that run down to the bottom of the engine and two hoses coming from the rear of the tank just behind the fuel filter which also run down to the bottom of the engine. I assume these are for drainage/over-flow. How important are they? Can I shorten or re-route them?

The ones on the carbs are drains from the float bowls.  You can remove them but if the floats stick you'll be dumping fuel on the motor.  The ones from the tank are a vent and a drain. You can 'y' them together and hide them pretty well down behind the swingarm pivot

Thanks.  [thumbsup]
Rerouted the hoses from the carbs, hid them behind the frame. And I'm in the process of cleaning up the rear end so thanks for the reroute suggestion on the tank hoses!  ;D
