Wow some of these would make fantastic bike roads [moto] :P It even shows the road they did on Top Gear last night. (Bolivia Special) Title: Re: who's ridden these roads? Driving from LAX to Johsua Tree. All was going well until a wrong lane had me rollin' thru Compton Title: Re: who's ridden these roads? Post by: ungeheuer on February 09, 2010, 03:17:29 PM I've both ridden and driven #1 - Col de Turini.... and same applies to the much more boring #18 - Spaghetti Junction.... but the most memorable of em was #15 - Los Caracoles, ("the road requires extreme patience and skill to negotiate" << do I get a discount on my insurance now? ;)) ascending from the coastal plains of Santiago to the Argentine side of the high Andes. Sadly done in an Argentine-bulit Fiat Duna (an aptly named vehicle if ever there was one) rather than on 2 wheels...

I recall doing the Albula Pass (not using the tunnel but the old pass road over the top) and getting stuck in the snow........then there was that incident with the cows............memories...............
Did 5 in a rental car several times but never really got a good look as I was too focussed on getting into the right (I mean correct) lane depending on my destination. |
