Title: Searching for SuperSport 1000 Post by: Grappa on February 09, 2010, 02:39:37 PM Been perusing the classifieds and eBay for a while now, and I have never seen a SS1000 listed anywhere. On the ducati.com website, I see that they made a SS1000 from 2003-2006. Are these incredible bikes that nobody ever wants to get rid of, or was the 1000 not released in the USA? Seen plenty of the older 900s and 750s, but no 1000s.

They pop up on eBay occasionally, but not that often. Also, there are a couple of racing clubs where the 1000DS is competitive and its not unusual to see former race bikes being sold. Not many SS's around as a whole, because sales of them weren't that great.

I also have a 2001 SS900 and they're pretty similar and more readily available. A yellow SS1000 just sold on ebay in Houston for $5K so they're out there. Go over to ducati.ms in the Supersport section and ask if anyone has one available. The last time someone did that there were a couple available.
