Title: Another swatt clip on question
Post by: goldFiSh on February 12, 2010, 03:51:26 AM
Does anyone know whether the swatt 2.5" or 3.5" rise clip ons will work mounted below a stock monster top triple? I've seen the threads by stopintime and ungeheuer about using swaps with speedymoto triples 9and the issues with reversing things, and spacing coffin masters) but have not found the answer.

I'm looking to bore and finish the stock triple kinda like the finish duck-stew got on spideys M1000SS.
Will it work, or will the bolts for the triple interfere with the clip ons risers?

Cheers

My 2.5" Swatts fit perfect with the stock top triple on my S2R1000.
No "reversing" necessary on the new design.

Stopintime, we all need your wisdom from time to time.
I've been quietly building my knowledge base through many of your posts.

Excellent, the stock triple will work. One final question, how much lower than stock is the setup with the 2.5" risers, mounting under the stock triple?

Do a search under "SWATT clip-ons" and you will find much info, mostly from Stopintime's install which was very helpful.
I believe it's about a 3.5" drop but with a swept back angle that feels really nice on the wrists. Look it up, a lot of info there.
I do have a photo somewhere that has the Swatt clip-ons and the stock Magura bars on at the same time, for I wanted to do a comparison.

, just in time to find that I was too late  :P

[laugh] My Swatt 3.5" vs stock measurement was about two inches lower. It's about the same result as Dinenoj's.
It would be great to see that picture [thumbsup]

I have 1.5" mounted below the top triple as well they fit fine.

Dineoj - this may be a stupid question, but where did you get those caps on the top of your triple?

I think you should send these photos to Swatt. They'll be very useful to illustrate height questions.

Silver Swatts look good on the bike  [thumbsup]  Off topic for a moment, how do you like your Track77s?

those are just standard button head allen bolts, probably M5 if i'm not mistaken. you can get them lots of places.

goldFiSh,    glad I could help.
bigjilm,      the bolts on the top triple are standard button head allen bolts at M8 X 16mm stainless steel purchased from Ace hardware.
stopintime, good idea to send these photos off to Swatt to help others see the comparison.
ungeheuer, the rizo track 77s work really well, I put their resistors on all 4 blinkers (came with four) and they blink at proper rate.
I had mounted an extension on the front to clear the fairing width. Very bright day or night.
