So my receptionist comes into my studio and says, "Hey, some guy knocked your bike over in the parking lot with his truck." I'm thinking the worst, bent bars, shattered headlight (which just went on Wednesday), cracked frame, etc.
I walk out, and there's Michael Madsen. Mr. Blonde himself. I've met him before working on various things, just kinda funny when she tells me "some guy hit your bike" and it's him. Funny enough I just signed on to mix a film he produced, so that's about as odd of an introduction as it gets. "Oh, you hit my bike, goddammit Madsen, by the way, I'm mixing your film."
The bike had a bent shifter, some scuffs, nothing too serious. Nothing I'd be billing him for. I just said if he feels bad enough that we should go out for a ride with the film's producer. [moto]
Interesting way to start the week. And now to go bend my shifter back in place.
Haha wow that's quite the story...
You should take the opportunity to become friends.
This guy?

That's the guy. He was apologetic, and did say he'd be down for taking a canyon ride some time.
We actually just had a discussion about that bike. Seems the initial bike they had for him had no front brake, so he brought up the topic of safety, if he was on a hill, stopping on a certain point for a shot, etc. Halfway through the shoot they got him a similar bike with a front brake, different fender though, wouldn't work for continuity. So, he said if they gave him that new bike, he'd use the bike with no front brake and sign a waiver saying he wouldn't sue in case of an accident.
damn that is a strange story, guess you get those kinds of stories workign in your line of work in the movie industry. well at least you know he can afford to fix your bike.

Plenty of stories, this is the first bike related one though.
Thanks for the story. I am now inspired to go park my bike behind Keira Knightly's car.
I recorded Gina Gershon last week, should have taken advantage of that opportunity. Not sure if I'm her type though . . . ???
[laugh] good one.. guess if you were her type you would hav already been dating her. [clap]
I'd like to think so too . . . but she might enjoy the company of women, if you get my drift.

Doesn't look very Blonde. What am I missing?

He was Mr. Blonde in Reservoir Dogs. The posted picture was from Hell Ride. Just pointing out that the guy rides along with having a gravely voice.

Reservoir Dogs is probably his most prominent role, apart from Kill Bill.
I'll be watching Reservoir Dogs tonight in honor of this very strange day.
????
He'd be buying me a new shift lever. Don't care who he is.
Oh I didn't give a shit that it was Madsen, the lever was fine, can't tell it was damaged anymore.
I deal with celebs all the time, I rarely rarely rarely think twice about them. Most of the time they're in the way of my getting more coffee.

Agreed!
A ride with Madsen may be cool but isn't going to pay for bent/broken parts.
I may think differently if it was Keira though. [bacon]

Again, parts fine, minorly bent, back in shape now, all good. The reason I played it cool was I do need to have a working relationship with him soon.

I agree with remaining cool. He could have at least paid for a the parts. Something good will come back around your way though. [thumbsup]
He totally offered to pay for whatever was broken, he's a standup guy. Just an accident and he completely owned up to it, came in and asked for the bikes owner, wouldn't stop apologizing. Lots of people would have handled it differently, but Madsen did it right. [thumbsup]
He is kinda gettin' Steven Segalish in the mid section huh?
Actually he's doing pretty well, not 100% Steven Seagal syndrome. I guess he could stand to drop maybe 15, but can't we all?
