Title: Pushed when he should have pulled

Then the gene pool wouldn't need so much chlorination.

Someone should slap mom and dad...   [roll]

The real tragedy here is that those poor kids are going to get teased, bullied, harrassed, etc... because their parents' are frackin' idiots.

Oh dear lord.

Freedom does not mean everyone else does what you want them to.

They got it wrong.  Mom and Dad owe the world and their children an apology.

Prolly true for most folks, now try Ho Chi Minh you'd get some notice. Pol Pot would probably fly under the same radar as Mao...

No kidding... They have basically doomed those kids to being marginalized by society because they gave them those assenine names. Beyond catching hell as a kid, what about a job... Hell if I'd hire somebody name Himler

This has been demonstrated not to be true. There is an interesting chapter regarding how a child's name affects their future success in the book Freakonomics. The summary is: it doesn't. At all.

I'm for not being defined by names. My name suits me but then that cause it's rare enough that I will always be the first person you think of when you hear my name... those that know me IRL, I have a rather boisterious out going personality.

<---- never one to believe 1/2 of what i read.

i disagree. imagine little adolf going for his first post college job. he interviews with [insert clearly jewish name here]

do you honestly think he has a chance at the job?

bet they change their own names as soon as they can legally do so,
assuming they survive grade school, and that they avoided to much of the stupid gene.

Just likes the names? Can't say they just roll right off the tongue. At what age do the kids forcibly get their own sensible tattoos? Nothing screams class like a swastika on your hand.

they should have just been honest and named all their children F*#^ed-at-Birth.

the parents are right, you should be able to name your kids whatever you want, nobody should tell you what you can and can't name your own child.

however, damn.. wtf? of all the names to name your kid.... like damn... damn...

you better hope those kids grow up to be the size of nfl offensive linemen.

but damn... those are some dense parents to say the least...

For argument, how long before these name combinations become socially acceptable again?

I'm curious about how common these given names, and surnames are in German-speaking countries. I'm certain the combinations are frowned upon there as well... but I'm sure somebody is named Adolf somethingoranother, and there are probably folks with the surname Hitler.

That said, any really German name is odd (here) unless you're also really German.

But how much time needs to pass before being named 'Adolf Hitler' will evoke either "huh" or nothing at all, instead of a "holy make the beast with two backsin' hell!" ?

My percocet isn't helping me think of good examples here, but... well, there are people named Cain, and you'd think that'd be iffy in a primarily Judeo-Christian area. :P

I don't understand how there are people out there who think that the world owes them everything.  Most of the trouble they are having is self inflicted...

The name Adolph is not the problem.  The kid's surname is not Hilter, his middle name is.  I forgot what they named the girl and I'm not going back to the video to find out.  One can only wonder what they are teaching their children.

Her middle name is aryan nation.

I too wonder what they're learning from their model parents.

The mom said something along the lines of "yeah there was the whole holocaust thing. But the US had slavery..."

like slavery even begins to compare to almost exterminating a race. That sure makes it ok [roll]

I bet they don't. And I'll take it one further and bet that they defend dear old mommy and daddy's (naming) decisions.
Just like I have a family and community that reinforces my value system and beliefs, so do they.
Sad.

That was the one that really got me. At least the other names were actual names.

I feel bad for the kids.  They did nothing wrong to deserve all this crap.  They already have the gene pool issue and stupid names working against them.  Now this?

I tried to have Safeway write some "adult" material on a cake once.  They wouldn't do it either.  They gave me a pastry bag and let me do it myself in the store though.

FWIW, there is an "Erotic Bakery" in Seattle that caters to this very issue: http://www.theeroticbakery.com/ (http://www.theeroticbakery.com/)
For, you know, future reference....

It doesn't seem to be anywhere online, but does anybody remember the SNL episode hosted by Patrick Stewart?

Sexy cakes? Eh? Ehhhh??

Here's the transcript (http://snltranscripts.jt.org/93/93lsexycakes.phtml).

I am shocked and disgusted by this.
The children will have a difficult life, and their names need to be changed asap in my opinion( That is my opinion and mine alone) .My father changed his name when he was a child because being a German Jewish Refugee living in Britain during WW2 he was subject to abuse by his classmates the days afer a nasty bombing raid where some of the classmates had been killed. He was formerly known as Freidrich Weill .His parents thought..........."when in Rome.........."
He went onto college, became a brilliant physicist spoke 7 languages fluently, and termed the words "Greenhouse Effect" in a research paper in the early 1950's. Thanks Dad, for being a good dad,I am proud of what you accomplished in your life and miss you. [thumbsup]
Thread jack over.
