Pretty cool use of the quick connect bucket.

However. The whole machine must have been tweaked because a normal excavator would not lift itself like that.

Cool nonetheless  [thumbsup]

Very cool!  [bow_down]

The hydraulics that operate the end of the arm (where the bucket should be) have been modified significantly, probably to gain the capacity needed to lift the machine. Notice there are 2 hydraulic cylinders. All Liebherr excavators of similar size only have one hydraulic cylinder to operate the bucket according to their webpage. Only their very large mining excavators have 2 cylinders for the bucket.

Nah...

Like Triple J said it was beefed up. I would imagine they did something with the hoses as well as they are usually the "weak" point in digging.

I also wouldn't be suprised if they put in a safety sytem in the pistons as well (like those used in bucket trucks) in case of failure.

I could care less if it was modified or not.

Took some skill and some big cajones on the part of the operator to perform that stunt!

did anyone else notice the hooks below the cab? when the arm was released, it was not just resting on the tread. never seen anything like that before

Perhaps a quick connect for a front dozer blade?

Never seen that set up before.
