Title: I love the taste of frozen snot Post by: Bellagio on February 19, 2010, 08:55:36 AM Anybody doing this up in March? It seems like a short ride (especially since I live right off the route), but it'd be fun to get out a put some miles on with freinds new and old.

Title: Re: I love the taste of frozen snot Post by: WarrenJ on February 23, 2010, 03:51:57 AM Its a 100 miles each way there and back. I'd have frozen snot by the time I got out of Waushara county.
Title: Re: I love the taste of frozen snot Post by: gregrnel on February 23, 2010, 05:02:35 AM Nieces B-day soiree that day, about 2 hours away.
No takers on this?? Title: Re: I love the taste of frozen snot Post by: Bellagio on February 23, 2010, 07:04:15 AM Both of those are valid excuses. Luckily the end point is about 2 miles from my house, so the ride back will be very friendly. Is everybody else still in hibernation?
Title: Re: I love the taste of frozen snot Post by: aaronb on February 28, 2010, 07:50:02 AM if the roads are clean, count me in. i'll most likely be riding with a few kids on rat bikes.
Title: Re: I love the taste of frozen snot Post by: Bellagio on March 01, 2010, 07:37:26 AM Glad to see there's still life on our local. I'm probably going to have a RC-51, a XB12R (or two), a 749, a '75 CB750, and a couple Harleys with me (if no one bails...)
Title: Re: I love the taste of frozen snot Post by: vwboomer on March 09, 2010, 09:18:16 PM Might go. Means an early start as I'm in Sheboygan and would likely meet up with a DR in Slinger.
Unless I get the new chain/sprocket on the Duc I'd probably be on the VFR though. Elemental protection might be nice! Title: Re: I love the taste of frozen snot Post by: Bellagio on March 10, 2010, 09:53:42 AM Sounds good Boomer. My electrical is on the fritz, I should *hopefully* have it fixed tonight.
Title: Re: I love the taste of frozen snot Post by: vwboomer on March 11, 2010, 08:05:28 PM Ever seen such a sweet set of asses? (http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v327/vwboomer/bikeasses.jpg) Got the chain off and sprocket changed this morning before work and hope to get the new chain cut and put on tomorrow before work. Title: Re: I love the taste of frozen snot Post by: Bellagio on March 13, 2010, 09:35:29 AM Well, we had 3 Monsters at the ride today. I was on the 620 Dark with the hi-mount Leo Vinces. Also saw a red M900 and an S4R (I believe it was Boomer). Not a great day for a ride, but not terrible either.
Title: Re: I love the taste of frozen snot Post by: WarrenJ on March 13, 2010, 12:25:18 PM I'm glad you guys got out. I'm in the middle of changing timing belts and valve check for the first time. I think I have some issues with the vertical cylinder - no pressure at the sparkplug hole when I turn the engine over?
Title: Re: I love the taste of frozen snot Post by: vwboomer on March 13, 2010, 03:43:53 PM Hey I saw ya get on after the powerhouse I think i dunno. Nobody around the couple times I walked past the bike tho! I never saw the M900 rider either.
The hand shift chopped bike was pretty sweet. Lotta dual sports and older bikes, even an F4 but not much for us Duc fans. The ride back to sheboygan was brutal with the headwind and migraine I developed. But can't complain about the weather at all. As for your belt job Warren I only checked mine once (that was enough) but does it seem there is less air moving through it than the rear? If you are turning it over slowly you may not notice much. It was 2 years ago I did mine so I'm a bit IZ_ on it. Nothing specific but here it is

Title: Re: I love the taste of frozen snot Post by: Bellagio on March 14, 2010, 04:35:55 AM Yeah, that was me, we didn't do Palomino just cause it's real close to my house. There was an event at House of Harley, so my buddy on the murdered out Buell XB12R with the tail end missing wanted to stop in. Can't wait for more rides. The riding season is here! I'm going out for a bit today.
Title: Re: I love the taste of frozen snot Post by: aaronb on March 14, 2010, 04:58:56 AM man what a day yesterday. i couldn't make it, although i was all read to go. my wife took my car to the grocery store first thing in the morning and had to walk home. it appears that my brand new alternator shorted out and cooked some wires. i had to make a few calls and we flat towed the car home. sucks.
glad everybody had fun. Title: Re: I love the taste of frozen snot Post by: vwboomer on March 14, 2010, 05:43:04 AM I imagine he has to be reeaaal careful with throttle application on that Buell since there's nothin to keep his ass in the seat. And I'm pretty sure the point section could puncture something important :o
Title: Re: I love the taste of frozen snot Post by: Bellagio on March 15, 2010, 10:24:07 AM Oh yeah, super careful. He cracked it 1/6 throttle and the rear was fishtailing out of control. It's got 114HP at the wheel. It was originally built to be a track bike, but Buell crapped out so there goes free stuff. It's getting "converted to a street bike" (aka - he put lights under the lower triple). The seat still isn't finished, I think it's getting a 3/4" race foam treatment with a fiberglass buttstop.
Who all rode today/planning on riding to work for the week. Glad I brought mine out, should be on her all week. Title: Re: I love the taste of frozen snot Post by: vwboomer on March 16, 2010, 04:42:13 AM Took the VFR to work yesterday. I was tempted last week but getting out at 11 at night ya never know if any of that fresh meltwater might be slick. Pretty warm this week so no worries.
Have to take the truck today but the rest of the week looks like bike weather too. This is the earliest I've ever been able to ride in - but not the earliest I've ridden. Title: Re: I love the taste of frozen snot Post by: WarrenJ on March 16, 2010, 05:14:08 AM This weather is great! I plan on riding around Lake Poygan this afternoon. Its just short of a 50 mile run - should be a good ride to start getting the winter rust off the riding skills. Everyone be safe and watch out for gravel piles at intersections.
