I had inquired about where to mount a Stebel air horn on my S4RS & never got ant replys, so I dove into it myself today & I feel it came out a pretty clean install.
There are a few tapped holes on the forward cylinder block, just behind the oil cooler. I fabbed a small bracket, 3/4" X 1 & 3/4" and drilled two holes in it. The relay is mounted under the rear fuel tank brace, on the left side.

Nice placement [thumbsup]
you wont regret having the Stebel. I commute home from work at night
and it has saved me many a time from the drunks stumbling onto the road
in front of the pub on a Saturday night.

I've been waiting around for them too.... [evil]
Nice work CCEMN1 [thumbsup]
Nice work...but...
Can I make a suggestion?
Move the ground to somewhere besides the side cover.
It will look cleaner and be a better ground.
Thanks guys and thank You Painter. I was actually thinking about that, because I didn't like the way it looked. Like a safety wire gone astray, or something.
I've used Stebels before. The stock horn on my Aprilia Factory was so anemic; I couldn't even get my buddy's attention when he was right next to me on the highway!
Stebel Nautilus Rules!
+1111
I stuck one on my st4s, and it saved my ass within an hour of riding. Honda civic does the full 5 lane Mexican Latin American lane change on I75. (I'm trying to be PC for a week)
Better?

Now you're talkin' [thumbsup]
Exactly what I was thinking.

;D
i'm thinking of getting one for my 696, are they plug and play?
Thanks Painter! Yes, "Plug & Play", as long as you use the relay. Those things pull 20 amps!
Nice job
CCEMN1 [thumbsup] BTW - I find your avatar strangely... mesmerising... lol

Yeah, fits right in, since the Stebel's are also made in Italy, I'm surprised Ducati doesn't offer it as an option?
Great safety feature also, you certainly won't be missed when you blow the thing. In fact, most will think it's an 18 wheeler bearing down on them.
There are severe restrictions on horn dB output in Italy and they're not allowed to honk them within city limits.
Understandable really - it was a noise hell before, night and day.
I think that's the reason for the meep meep stock horns.
Serious problems running anything else than "homologato" exhaust as well [leo]
