Title: Shave 4+ lbs and keep your cold cranking amps! Post by: Dietrich on February 23, 2010, 08:40:33 PM OK, I finally gave in and got rid of my rear fender, affectionately called the "getto finger nail" by one of my friends. That metal support bar and fender weighed in at over 4 lbs. I have been wanting to simply replace the rear fender with a more compact unit, and relocate the stock tail light a bit closer and more tucked into the rear frame rail. What I came up with as an alternative is not unlike the many self made tai chops, just made a bracket out of aluminum plate, a couple bends, spacers, and curved to fit under the tail light putting everything right where I wanted it and at the angles I thought looked best.
