Read somewhere that putting a business card between the brake pad and the disk helps to get rid of drag. I guess the space that the paper creates forces the piston back a bit. Basically you wedge the business card in then pull the brake lever. True?
If you want to reduce brake drag, get fully-floating buttons for your rotors. You will like the noise too. [thumbsup]
I would inspect my rotors for minimum thickness & warpage, clean themof with a scotch brite pad & a high flash point brake cleaner, check that the master cylinder is working properly and not sticking, next dismount the calipers remove the pads & check the retainer pins for pitting and wear, more important are the pistons & the caliper bore,if any pitting is evident theyll need replacement, most common sticking problems are usually by accumilated brake dust & grime ,make sure the seals are fine & clean pistons & bores out with the high flashpoint solvent or denatured alcohol, not the seal, just wipe it clean ,oil the inner piston & caliper bore with fresh brake fluid ,and reassembly.Bleed system as necessary till all air bubbles are gone.
As for an answer to your original question"No".
later...RS

I don't know about that, but a playing card and a clothes pin can make your Schwinn sound like a motorcycle. [moto]
I actually just had my rotors floated more and cleaned w/ a scotch bright pad. I also pushed the pistons back in and then put new pads. I'll proceed to bleed and take it from there.
