Hope this isn't a Derby.

Though searching on "Cake" revealed nothing.

So I only was semi-unoriginal

Yeah, the Go-Daddy guy's wedding cake. Which, now that I think about it is surprisingly devoid of boobies........

Now that's a Ducati suitable for parties.
Isn't this from 2009? I tried to look this episode up, but was not able to find it. I'd like to see it if it airs.

In case anyone is interested, this Thursday March 4th at 10pm, Food Network will air the Ace of Cakes episode where they make the lifesize streetfighter cake.
I know the pictures of this cake were amazing
(here's the link in case you forgot what it looked like,

but watching the crew there make it should be really cool.
I hope he lights the lights and honks the horn during the episode...

Ducati has officially "jumped the shark"... again.
The cake actually looks cool.
Ok I just posted this up but it looks like it might be a good fit for this thread too.

I guess I replied to the wrong thread... :P

How's that? It isn't like DNA ordered the cake, it was a smart advertiser who sells leases on virtual addresses.
I'm sure they were somehow involved.
Looks like it weighs as much as the original... 400 lbs.... actually could taste good.
Ever wonder how much something like that costs?

I wouldn't say Ducati jumped the shark, shows involving cake however have totally outstayed their welcome. Ace of Cakes is the most boring anticlimactic piece of crap on the Food Network (apart from Sandra Lee's semi-homemade alcoholic housewife creations), and how many Ultimate Cake competitions can they show?
That said though, I do like cake, and Ducati, so a Ducati cake is okay by me.
Less than the real thing? ;)
I dunno, you could always call and just get a quote for the exact same cake. Could be interesting to know, I am just too lazy to do it myself.
I would be it's not less than the real thing.
My guess: ~25k
It seems that Ducati, at least in Italy, was not involved. I saw a post this morning on FB asking for info on it. Quite weird that the person in charge of updating their "official" FB site could not do a simple search for it.

I saw a quote for one of their regular, lightly decorated single tier cakes and it was $1K.
I bet the Ducati cake was at least $15K and that $25K number was probably closer. The 9 Tier wedding cake was likely $10K as well.
Not sure if that includes delivery or not.
I TIVO'ed the episode and watched it last week. It was awesome. A local Ducati dealership brought in a Streetfighter to the bakery so they would have a real life model. They recorded the engine and exhaust sound so when the bike turned on it actually sounded like a Ducati. Also, smoke came out of the exhaust pipes and the back wheel would spin... Very cool.
