Title: Spoked wheels on a SSSA Post by: MonsterTom on March 01, 2010, 06:09:26 AM Having previously owned an SC1000, I really like the classic looks of spoked wheels. I did a quick search to see if anyone has attempted to adapt a SSSA to enable the installation of spoked wheels (Alpina wheels are sweet [thumbsup]". What kind of custom work would need to be done to be able to do this? I think spoked wheels on the SSSA, ala BMW GS1200, would look killer!

Next option is to machine your own hub and get Buchanan's or someone to lace you up a pair. Remember that the SSS is offset for brake rotor/caliper clearance -- thus your hub flanges will be different to get equal spoke angle. CAD drawings are done to build one if I can't purchase the Evoluzione version in the next 3 months for a customer project. Bicycle hub flanges are offset, with different spoke length/angle, to account for the gear cassette. Be interesting to see how it works in this application. I should have bought them, as I've never seen anything like them since (or before).
