Having previously owned an SC1000, I really like the classic looks of spoked wheels. I did a quick search to see if anyone has attempted to adapt a SSSA to enable the installation of spoked wheels (Alpina wheels are sweet [thumbsup]". What kind of custom work would need to be done to be able to do this? I think spoked wheels on the SSSA, ala BMW GS1200, would look killer!
custom hub, i'd imagine... then it's just a lace job and you're done
Supposedly the new Hypermotard Evoluzione version has the option of a spoked SSS rear wheel. I'm made inquiries but can't get pricing as of yet.
Next option is to machine your own hub and get Buchanan's or someone to lace you up a pair.
Remember that the SSS is offset for brake rotor/caliper clearance -- thus your hub flanges will be different to get equal spoke angle. CAD drawings are done to build one if I can't purchase the Evoluzione version in the next 3 months for a customer project.
Well, it's nice to know that we've got an expert already working a similar project! What's the time frame for the particular build you're working on?
Just googled the Hyper Evolucion, those spoked wheels look cool [thumbsup]

Bicycle hub flanges are offset, with different spoke length/angle, to account for the gear cassette. Be interesting to see how it works in this application.
A while back I found a set of spoked hub carbon shelled wheels. I should have bought them, as I've never seen anything like them since (or before).
Would love to have a set of spokes for S2R always admired this guy for his work on the Griso
