What brand forks came on the 750 monster in 2000? Was it a true mishmash of Marchozzis & Showas or just one brand? Having a bit of step to wih a RT supplier, thanks in advance.
If they're Showas they'll have a casting on the inside of the lower that will clearly indicate it.
I think they were Marzocchi in 2K
mine was built in February 2000 and it has Showa.
Race Tech application chart has Marzocchi 40mm listed for 98-01 Ducati 750 Monster and also for 99-01 Ducati 750 Monster Dark. The only entry for Showa is 97 Ducati 750 Monster and it's listed as a Showa 41mm. Was the 750 even imported in 1997?
My are stamped as Showa too

97 was the first year for the 750 Monster. It had the old style cases and the slave inside the r/h side cover.
I just got off the phone with Michelle at Race Tech and she confirms that the only thing their application chart list for any year other than 07, is Marzocchi. I've forwarded my original springs measurements to them and she'll try to match from them.
BTW, anyone know of an online source to buy a spring compression tool? I've contact Chris @ CA-Cycleworks, but his catalog doesn't show one any longer.
Traxxion has a nice little tool kit.. $36 bucks...

kewl...I'd say we're even ;) [thumbsup]
Racetech are often wrong with their lists ,but ducati have history for mix and match parts in stock.i have seen many 2000 year M750 in Europe with Showas as standard.

+1. And RT doesn't list anything for the 800 Monsters. I just took mine out and measured, they set me up with something that works just fine.
