Title: Mivv exhaust doesn't fit on the right side. Post by: Alan T on March 01, 2010, 01:54:34 PM Hey everyone,
this is my first post outside of my intro, so take it easy on me. I've been riding for a year and just starting to learn about motorcycles. Anyways, after waiting four months for my mivv gp high mount exhaust, I'm finally installing it. It doesn't have clearance on the right side for the pipe attached to the muffler. There's a black cover and a piece behind it (black box, not sure what it is) that's in the way. The pipe would have to be about an inch or so further back to clear the cover and box. The box and cover look only to be attached to the bracket for the peg. In the picture I'm pointing to the cover. First, what are the pieces in the way, and how do I get around this? (http://i934.photobucket.com/albums/ad190/maxpower_2009/untitled.jpg) Thanks! Title: Re: Mivv exhaust doesn't fit on the right side. Post by: yotogi on March 01, 2010, 02:04:35 PM Emissions canister.

It's a common hassle free mod to remove it. I'm in Europe where we don't have those, so I can't tell you how. I'm pretty sure we have how-to-info here. Search canister removal? Your 695 (?) parts will be the same as 620 bikes. The large cover above your pointing hand can be replaced with a smaller Euro style cover or removed all together. (Yotogi beat me to it [thumbsup] follow his link) Title: Re: Mivv exhaust doesn't fit on the right side. Post by: teddy037.2 on March 02, 2010, 06:29:05 AM +1
remove it, and all is well.... Title: Re: Mivv exhaust doesn't fit on the right side. Post by: Slide Panda on March 02, 2010, 06:35:44 AM What bolts are those holding on your rearsets? They aren't stock...
Also, though it'll be moot when you mount high mounts, you have a spacer in the wrong spot. That bolt that hangs the stock exhaust should have that spacer on the inboard side. If you just put it there so it won't get lost, please ignore me. Title: Re: Mivv exhaust doesn't fit on the right side. Post by: Alan T on March 02, 2010, 06:56:01 AM Thanks guys! I should have it done tonight or tomorrow and I'll throw up more pics.
Yuu, do you mean the the spacer next to the rear peg? I don't remember what I used there, I'll have to check. I may have just left things mid-install since I had to stop. But you can see the the opposite side of it there's a grey metal plate. That plate holds the clamp that wraps around the muffler. Title: Re: Mivv exhaust doesn't fit on the right side. I don't know of anybody in Cali that keeps it. Never heard of anybody getting a fix-it ticket for removing it either. I still have it in a box in the garage just in case though. Damnit I'm going out of town for a week on Saturday and won't have time to get to the bike before then! Oh well it's raining here anyways
