I was just given a 1098 rear shock and was curious what would need to be done to install this on my S2R 800. I did a search on the forum and didnt find much info.
I was just seeing if anyone has done it and has some pictures. If not a little info would be nice..
Thanks again for your time
its shorter than stock and will hit the swingarm unless you install an adjustable ride height bar.
the spring is also softer so you'll need to replace it. i have one for sale. still need to get the actual weight for it because it got stripped off when i powdercoated it but it was intended for a 200lb rider if that fits your bill.
The 800 has an adjustable rod. Is that not enough?
I thought this shock had a piggy back reservoir. Wrong?
No it doesnt have a piggy.
This is for my boy friends S2R he weighs 225 and just isnt happy with his rear end.
Thanks for the info.. :)

Ride height bar- look at ur current shock. there should be a metal bar sitting behind it. thats the ride height bar. if the 800 does have it, it may not be enough. your looking to extend the bar atleast 1 inch. You defintely need to swap the spring out either way on the 1098 shock or the stock monster shock. The valves are too small on both shocks, and i woudlnt recommend revalving them, you might as well buy a whole new aftermarket shock at that point...
