I have a Shoei X-Eleven in solid black and like this design http://www.compacc.com/p.cfm/c/1201001/p/20319 (http://www.compacc.com/p.cfm/c/1201001/p/20319) but I must say the desmo look is appealing as well http://store.ducatiusa.com/product/0/98100271/_/Ducati_Corse_Arai_Corsair_V_Helmet (http://store.ducatiusa.com/product/0/98100271/_/Ducati_Corse_Arai_Corsair_V_Helmet)
that said feel free to provide thoughts, suggestions and if you paint helmets PM me.
Thanks.
please pick an image and caption from "Look At This make the beast with two backsing Creature". That would be fantastic. http://www.latfc.us/index.html (http://www.latfc.us/index.html)
I would also like to see an ARCHER helmet.
Perhaps around the base, or around the visor, you could have inscribed:
"HOW HARD IS IT TO POACH AN EGG?! ITS LIKE EGGS 101"
I would be amused at least.
my next helmet is going to have a moon pie logo on one side and an RC Cola logo on the other. perhaps they'll help foot the bill.
Paint Daffy duck on the thing.
do paperinik then!

Nice... [thumbsup]
Do you have access to spray equipment, or is that a garage/rattle can job?
I have been kicking around the idea of using small pics of playboy centerfolds to do a collage of naked chicks, it would look like your typical mumble jumble graphic from a distance but up closer it would be T&A here, a pretty face there, a bush and I dont the president.

I work at a collision repair shop so when its slow I mess around with my own stuff, try new ideas and such. sometime I rattle can stuff but only when I am looking to ghetto something but mostly use RM basecoat clearcoat system.

Hate to poop on the parade (all nice helmets BTW), but can't paint affect the structural integrity of the hard surface of a helmet?? ???

No.
Your thinking is 40 years old when helmets may have been something other than composites.
All composites can be refinished without affecting them structurally. You wouldn't want to use stripper on them, but paint is fine.

Hell....I'm not even 40 years old.... [laugh]
Yeah, I've heard different takes on the paint thing. Good to hear your opinion that modern helmets can be painted...

Designs like this look so much better than the busy, psychedelic, technicolor yawn racer replica helmets. [puke]

like ducpainter said the new tech poly paints dont affect the shell like the older lacquer and enamel paint did. they (lacquers and enamels) were mainly solvent based, the newer polys are more like epoxy with a dedicated hardener, solvents are very low to be V.O.C compliant making them less aggressive on the substrates. its really more like a coating than a paint. the only thing we dont paint are airbags.

I know the place well. I'll send you a PM, would like a quote.
Thanks.
paintimg the old polycarbonate helmets about 30 years ago would make them mush. Thats a clue to how old I am not. [laugh]
the desmo one has tiny little lines that look like a pita to get right.
the other looks like some basic pin striping with a devil logo.
the white would probably be difficult on black regardless.
