much as i love the Duc, i also love that I-4 scream ... imagine a liter bike at 14,000 rpm.
life is good.
No Pics?????
Congrats [thumbsup]
I heard these bikes are locked under 9k revs until first service. Is yours?
Congrats on the bike!

Lord... really? Please tell me the first service is free then. If not, I can cross that beemer off the list. No way, no how is the Mfg going to lock me into spending service money at the dealer....
That is a nasty, nasty, nasty bike.
Glad you got it.
I can't believe it's a BMW.
Nasty looking bike. 9 outa 10 by what I've seen on Google image search (not 10 outa 10 because I don't like the shape of the frame, but that's just IMHO).
Is the engine just the same as the Honda/Kawasaki/Yamaha I-4's?
Nice! I was checking that out when I bought my 1100. [thumbsup]
The tail kind of reminds me of a scorpion.

I guess you're not going to be buying any new bike or car, ever, again then. There's always stuff that needs to be done that only the dealer can perform. Not much getting around that.
I didn't care for the S1000RR when it came out but the white/blue/red motorsports edition looks pretty good.

You don't know me very well [cheeky]
the motorrad colored one looks awesome in the flesh.test rode it and cant wait for one to be in my garage.
finally the japs have had a slap in the face.maybe some others...next two years will tell.
Congrats and welcome to a new dimension in biking!
I love my Ducati also but, as with everything in life I've got to try everything I can at least once.

The ones coming through now are locked at a max of 9,000rpm (plenty fast for running in the engine)

If it wasn't for the Japanese you would be still riding around on British, Italian, German and American piles of SH1T. The only reason any of these countries bike manufacturers have lifted there game is because of the Japs. And dont worry Jap inc will be back doing it better and cheaper than the others. ;)

eh, lost me. ???
they did a write up/test of the bike in last months CycleWorld (March). based on the pics and rearset location... in its stock form, the bike looks like it was grinding the toes off the test riders boots ;D
I sat on one today in Daytona, sick sick sickkkkkkkkkk! [bacon]

+1!
i just got mine into the garage last friday ... red / white / blue (yes, we know that's called
'motorsports colors'). anyone who thinks this thing is unattractive needs to take a closer
look in person. BWM is enforcing the break-n period with a SW patch to keep revs below
900 for the first 600 miles. this thing really wants to spin. i'm not an aggressive rider, and
that rev limit is going to be a little intrusive even for me.
900 or 9000?
Congrat's on the new bike. I'm waiting for the BMW S600RR to come out! The rumor is that it will be out by the end of the year...
