Title: 1996 M900 frame color
Post by: M900 on March 07, 2010, 03:53:20 AM
Has anyone touched-up the gold frame on their 90's Monster?

It's that muted gold color, and on my bike, I have some nice battery splatter accents on it, and even though it gives the bike some added 'personality' I think I want to paint over it.

So does anyone know if there's a touch up paint that's readily available???

Color-ite (http://color-ite.com/ (http://color-ite.com/)) used to list it.

They may still offer it. It wasn't a perfect match.

EDIT

I posted an incorrect link..it should be...http://www.colorrite.com/ (http://www.colorrite.com/) ...........sorry

I just had mine re-coated due to the same reason. I wasn't able to find a match so I changed the whole color. Whichever you do, get a sealed battery to prevent future occurrences.

Only problem I can see GM is paint can't ship by air.

I guess it could go on the slow boat.

How about the "touch-up pencils?"

Not sure if that would be classified as a flammable.

You could email and ask the vendor how it ships.

OK, going to autozone tomorrow, and if this is off, trying the import one.  Thanks guys!

I will take pics and post a thread with the results!

Too bad if shipping to US is a problem,
I`ve touched up dozens of times, no visible transfer new/old paint!
