Title: Basic mods / Gas mileage
Post by: PhoenixS4R on March 07, 2010, 03:12:33 PM
Hey gents/ladies,

Currently have in my possession a 05 SR4 stock with the exception of an Akrapovic slip on that was installed via a previous owner.  I'd like to go ahead and complete the exhaust system (removing the hideous bladder) as well as the air box mod and top it with a PCIII.

My question to you is, will my gas mileage increase or reduce?

I'm not a small guy, 6'3 @ 250. Riding spirited around town/mountainy/freeway has me pushing 25 mpg'ish, which I'm told is pretty low.

Thanks!

the PCIII is the variable in that equation

but most if not all mods that increase HP or claim to increase HP will reduce mileage

If we cared about mileage we would be riding 49cc scooters.

Most likely reduce. That's the mileage I got flogging my old S4R.

If you want mileage, don't flog is all it comes down to  :P
