Title: Throttle sync with a PCIII
Post by: battlecry on March 08, 2010, 01:07:49 PM
I've set the valve clearances and degreed cams on my 2003 M800S and now I want to sync the bleed screws at idle and test the throttle sync at the no man's land around 3500 RPM.  The PCIII map will impact the f/a ratio but I'm really looking to equalize air flow to the cylinders so it would not matter what map I'm running, right?
A bad map or mismatched maps between front/rear cylinders will prevent the bike from running as smooth as it could, but I should still be able to do/test for the sync and then have it dyno later right?   ???

Yep

PC just affects fuel

The map wont affect what you do with the air screws

however what you do with the air screws will affect the map

you can sync the throttles using a meter or the ATF in a clear hose method and then dyno later for optimal efficiency

I had to get the PCIII remapped after my 6K service (and flywheel install), because it was running like crap after.  Never figured out why, but was what it was.

After the remap, a 5.5k flat spot was gone, and made a bit more HP/TQ.

YMMV.
