Im outta here.
ORANGES ROCK!
Doesn't matter what kind of orange.
Fuji FTW.
Honeycrisps will make you throw your Fujis straight in the trash can!
I am a recovering Honeycrisp addict. I remember exactly where I was when I ate my last one of the season. Sad but true.
Mutsu...
I've never had the urge to mix apple juice with liquor...
So my vote's for oranges.
CRUNCHY!!!

I'll pass on the cider and whiskey.
And as for the latter, you've gotta be kidding me right? [laugh]
Its obvious the OP has never had a HoneyCrisp apple. If he had, the title of this thread would be "What is your second favorite food in the whole wide World, after the Honeycrisp apple?"
Oranges are good, but damn I love me some apples. Granny Smith, Red Delicious, Roma's. Love 'em.

Umm, Hard Cider, anyone? And not the FRU-FRU kind you get at the local Applebee's. I'm talkin the kind your grandpa used to leave in a whiskey barrel down in the basement. Skip the mixing...
Have to support the local orange economy.

Look, apples need to be washed. We all know this. This is because the fruit, in of itself, is filthy. It's also a waste of water. Shame.
Braeburn all the way, baby.
Fuij, Ontario, Gala, Shinsei, Jonagold, Melrose, Mcintosh, Braeburn, Granny Smith, Kent, Hokuto, Red Delicious, Sweet Russet, Baldwin, Pink Lady, Belmont, Northern Lights, Sutton Beauty, Northern Spy, Fukutami, Mutsu, Golden Nobel, Lobo, Liberty, Jonomac, Pacific Beauty, Smokehouse, Snow, Spijon, Viriginia Gold, and MUCH MUCH MORE!!!! Sorry, I am from Washington. We like apples.
I had a friend in Cali with a poster in their kitchen that had 2 dozen apples on it; they could name 3 of them, I could name them all just by looking at them. I think you could eat a different kind of apple every day for a year without a repeat.
The Doc
PS: I don't really eat the Red Delicious very much b/c they have been a bit over-breed and modified to look good and they have lost a bit of their taste and crisp (mushy apples are yuck, unless you just go ahead and cook them and mush them into applesauce, mmmmmmm, don't get me started.)
HoneyBELL ORANGES ftw.
make the beast with two backs apples.
This seems to be turning a bit "Bitter Butter Battle"...
Apples FTW. No effort exertion trying to get past the tough, untasty outer layer. you just EAT IT. [thumbsup] So all you citrus-heads, put that in your rind and smoke it. Besides... you never hear about ORANGEwood smoked [bacon]
gonna try making hard cider this fall. Granny Smiths rule

My favorite, I bought a blood orange tree the day I moved to Los Angeles. Been growing it in a pot on my patio and I've gotten amazing oranges every year. The plan is to plant it in my lawn one day when I buy a house.
Oranges over apples, IMO.
oranges...peel away the outer garment and you have ripe succulent sections bursting with wonderful juices

Orange. Happens to be my last name (in Italian). But I do loves me some apples. Fresh apple juice is almost as good as fresh orange juice. Almost.
On the other other hand...I'll stuff myself sick on ripe apricots.
Apricots, the bacon of fruit.
You've got it all wrong.......fresh figs are the bacon of fruit!
