Title: Change dry clutch
Post by: Mikkel67 on March 09, 2010, 03:15:40 AM
Hi,

anybody know how to change the dry clutch? I have seen some good explanations on how to change the pressure plates and springs, but not on how to change the discs/plates or what they are called. Is it just to pull them out?

Appreciate tips

After you remove the pressure plate you just slip them out.

The clutch stack should look the same when you put it back together meaning there should be steel plates and fiber plates in the same sequence.

There may be one or more dished steel plates marked with a punch dot on the tooth. Look closely for them.

Yup. Pay attention to the metal plates. One or more of them will not be flat (by design) and you will want to be sure you get them back in the correct order. I would hope that any set of replacements would have instructions indicating this...

Just as an FYI, the Duc factory replacement I got for an 01 900 came with no instructions whatsoever.

In that case, the instructions are in your handy-dandy service manual!  ;)
