Title: old threads on TOB
Post by: ctrain on March 09, 2010, 01:52:37 PM
So i mentioned to a friend of mine that i was back on the DMF and we started laughing about old threads on the DML.

Anyone read/remember the "mounting beanie babies" thread?!  [laugh] That one was hilarious [clap]

Here's a link to it. http://www.ducatimonster.org/forums/accessories-mods/140362-mounting-beanie-baby.html (http://www.ducatimonster.org/forums/accessories-mods/140362-mounting-beanie-baby.html)

I think my fav was the guy asking for everyone to send him money for a ring.

Most hated is obviously the airplane on the conveyor belt.

The thread for Crowbar after his crash brought a tear to my eye. People can be cool sometimes.

God, I loved the thread where one nameless member asked if it was possible to move the clutch lever to the right side and throttle and brake to the left because xxxx wasn't strong enough to pull in the clutch lever and needed it relocated

Sadly, Herb was just a pawn in that thread (or the only one with the balls to post up the pics). The pics were found by a third party that you all know but whom doesn't frequent these parts anymore. In retrospect, the response by H was a foreshadowing of what was in the works for the board.

Is this the story about people suing each other? I wasn't around for those days.

Yup interesting board....big gaggle of latte sipping Ducati Dilettantes..I recall there being some world class fabulist named Randy or Randall or something like that on that board who provoked unchecked hostility and venom...maybe Piller or one of his relatives....migrated to TOB after the party ended there

Prior to that I was run off the Vintage British Bike Board what a frumpy bunch of PC turd bags they were

except for the Kiwi's and the Aussies...they were fun...

one very important guy..a lord of the web site I think,,,well he had a Japanese wife so any time anyone would use the Jap word as in Jap Bike....he would jump all over their sh!t for using racist terminology....insufferably self-righteous....we were neanderthals, their culture was so highly refined and civilized ablah ablah and so on....

I started a near-riot after his puffed up correction of someone who used the Jap word by posting every link I could find about the Japanese Army WW2 Medical Research Experimentation Teams and their torture experiments on the Chinese and captured Allied POW's

I don't have a high threshold and that guy got web-lynched by 2/3rds of the members...and I got booted

Hmmmm, I remember RickT (whom Im still good friends with), Eastbay851 and the infamous Scott Mcaig the Index's version of R.

The latter, when challenged; would post his own address challenging the offender to "say it to his face".....them were the good ole days....

Actually I think you are right...it was Scott on the Index...Randall may have been  an accomplished polarizer on TOB a half dozen or so years back...I remember EastBay851 from the Index that name rings a bell...I can't even recall what name I went under there but that site had some great information and some excellent knowledgeable folks

NOW I see where the 140 mph m620 joke came from. All this time I always just thought it was a joke about how fast the 620s can go. Mine can go 142mph!!! (but only when I fire my jetpack).  ;)
I wasn't around that long ago, just back to TOB, and I wasn't on that long before Hitler took over, and we found refuge here.

Had to go back over there to try to find an old post.

Between deleted posts, merged threads and ads, there is no flow, and everything is out of context.

Please don't make me go back again.

"Capirex" comment Kni   [laugh]

Any Pillar or Felix "Moonlight Bromance" Gumbiner thread (<sp?) was usually good back on TOB.

I was on that night of the big battle until 4am.  She PM'ed to tell me to stay out of it or would bring me into the lawsuit as well.  [roll]  Another DML'er copied and sent the thread before it was deleted.  I just saw it in my archives.   Funny..we were actually friends with Ally up until that.  That happened right after New Year's..in '05, right?  D*mn..seems like a lot more time has passed since!

herb is alive and well but does not ride anymore following a nice highside.

He used to run a fishing/sunset cruise boat on lake Erie (out of Dunkirk ny) but it was getting too costly to keep it up so the ship is or was for sale.

Him and his dad concentrated their efforts full time on their other boat which they run dive charters with.

You could find herb on the wny board (sportriders.org) under the name Dirty Duc

Mr. Buelton, yes I resurfaced like a hungry cockroach and followed the bread crumb trail to this feast and lo-and-behold I see your name active in the roster. It is nice to know I have been missed...

and also reassuring to know that there are some who have probably missed me like a woman would miss a yeast infection.

Aside from your recent reversal I hope you and your lovely lady (did you guys marry?) are otherwise faring well.   [beer]
