Title: Another Insurance question
Post by: muskrat on March 10, 2010, 04:36:07 PM
to beat a dead horse I submit the following:

Currently I have Geico and all 4 bikes are just a tad under $1200 per year with $500 out-of-pocket.  coverages are 25/50/25 so I shopped around and Safeco came back with $1,000 with coverages of 100/300/100.  Frankly it knocks the socks off Geico for the coverages.  Anyone have experience with Safeco on bikes or home and auto?  I'm also shopping that also.

Thanks.

I currently have 3 bikes insured with 3 different companies because none of them were competitive on all 3 bikes. Plus AAA for house and truck.  :-\

[bang]  this stuff aint as easy as it used to be.  my only hold-up is the bike insurance with Safeco, I know of no one with them for bikes.

No help M-rat. I too have bike ins. issues. I have four bikes with Progressive (they have a limit/policy) and six with GEICO. Basically same coverage. I would like to have them all on one policy. We have Allstate on our house and cars and get a discount for that. I recently turned in Safe/Defensive Driving class certificates for Jen and I (don't ask...). When I was in their offices getting copies made the subject of bikes came up. I had a Cycle World hat on. They went out of their way to get me to give them a shot at quoting the bikes when they came up for renewal. Heck, why not??

No Safeco experience at all. For that matter no Progressive, GEICO or Allstate experience either since I have never filled a bike claim with anyone. I'll keep an eye on your thread. Lots of good intel out there!! [thumbsup]
