does the fitting where the oil pressure switch is, produce an accurate reading for a manual gauge? not having any experience with the clutch side of the engine yet, it just seems like just a hole in the clutch cover couldn't have a good pressure reading. i'm sure there's more than what i can see from the outside.
Yes it does. I've fitted a manual gauge to that port for testing and it'll tell you the pressure. Just make sure it's sealed up nice... or you get an oil fountain.
that test point is before the oil goes through the crankshaft or cooler.. pretty much straight from the pump.. as good as its going to get.

I actually ran an oil line up to under the tank from the pressure switch attach point, and then fitted the pressure sensor there.
Mind you, I'm not concerned with a perfect pressure reading, rather if it's running generally high or generally low.

thank you monsta, that's what i wanted to hear. i was unsure how the test point was tied into the oil system.
on gauges, i've found mini Drag ones going for about $80+. which ones have you had experience with and any cheaper ones? i came across some Sunpro ones for about $20 and are 1 1/2in. in dia. what do you all think? thanks
