Well here is my 09' 1100s. I traded the 696 for it hence the license plate! I got a pretty good deal on it since it was on the showroom floor for so long. It's pretty much stock except for the seat and I'm getting some bar risers for it soon. The 696 is a great bike but I just felt too big for it and needed something taller. The clutch took me by surprise... it's very touchy and I stalled it leaving the parking lot :-[. I really liked the slipper clutch and I'll probably miss that the most. Also what happened to the temperature reading on the display? Why doesn't the 1100 have that? I thought that was a cool feature on the 696. Sorry for the crappy pics but my camera is on it's way out... enjoy :)

love those wheels. now if you put the full Termi kit on it you will notice a HUGE difference, at least I did when I rode my friends. Enjoy the coming spring.
I also did the classic new bike launch with my M1100 [thumbsup]
Congrats [moto]

Ha! yes they are bright aren't they? I thought I read somewhere that a hair dryer would get them off, is that true? Also do you guys have any tips for breaking it in properly? I followed the book with my last bike but if theres anything else that you have found to be helpful I would appreciate reading about it. I just want to make sure I have a bike that lasts for a long time and I want to break it in right. Thanks!
i used the classic hairdryer+dental floss combo, then goobegone to clean it up.
as far as the break-in go, i just followed the manual. i am sure you will get lots of different opinions about this...
Good looking bike.
I didn't think the beer trays could get any uglier (than the original monsters), but that have.
+1 on removing the reflectors (heat it up and pull it off).
The temperature readings were often way off as the sensor is in a place that didn't make much sense for ambient readings, so I've heard. It might still be in the same place, but our (my?) consensus is that Ducati cut the info part because of the mysterious readings. Only speculations, but it sounds logical?
What, if any, are your mod ambitions?
My 0.02 - if you're a tall rider you might be better off with clip ons than risers.
I always thought the temp reading was spot on. Maybe when waiting in traffic it might read high but when riding it seemed pretty accurate. The first thing I'm going to do is get rid of the tail then get a clutch cover... watching that clutch go round is mezmorizing. I don't know if I can do exhaust anytime soon. How much is the full exhaust for these? I know the canisters and ECU is around $1400 but I never priced them with a full pipe. I'm going with the risers because I asked the dealer to throw them in the deal and he said ok. I'm getting them put on with the first service. He had another 1100 on the floor that had them already installed and they fit me pretty good. I'm 6'0 but have short legs and 32" inseam so the 1100 height was perfect and with the comfort seat I am almost flat on my feet when sitting on the bike. But I don't like being leaned over so much and having to put my weight on my wrists. Do you have a pic of a bike with clip ons installed?
If you get risers installed for free, you might as well check them out first. If clip ons are right for you, they can be installed later [thumbsup]
My bike is the second one from the top on the homepage - BOMB, Bike Of the Moment Baby
Congrats! The most important part of break in is to avoid constant speed and load, in other words avoid the slab.
Goncrats!
Looks good in white!
Enjoy your new ride [thumbsup]
save your money on mods and spend it on tires.
b98=no hairdryer!!!1
heat makes gooey things gooeyer
think of tar on a road during the summer.
wait till it's really friggin cold and get some channel lock pliers and grab on to em and give the reflector a twist. ( put your palms together and twist em, you want the fork tube and reflector to move the same way) consistent pressure till the adhesive gives way.
no goo be gone needed.
Chop!!!
If you're a guy over the age of say 12, then just grab the reflectors and twist. If you can't, come up to DIMBY in July and one of us will take care of it after a bit of tequila (which you should supply).
;D
congrats on the new scoot. [thumbsup]

Yes reflectors are coming off soon! I been stuck at work and haven't been able to touch my bike all week and now the weather turned to crap. I have a brand new monster sitting in my garage and all I can do is peek under the dust cover each night when I get home to make sure she is ok. Look at that milage... Pathetic!

For the fork reflectors, you can take a piece of dental floss wrapped around your fingers and "saw" through the double sided tape. Goes right through. Little bit of clean up with some goof off and your done. Be careful using any thing metal as it is not hard to scratch the forks if you slip.
