Just passing along info, but a few people are going to be meeting up mid May in the moutains for riding/dinner/social.  Would be good to finally meet some of you guys.

some of us are leaving a day before everytone else for the ride down so we will have a bit more time in our schedule

I attempted something similar through the clubs a few years ago, but it went nowhere since no one wanted to help. Pretty much everyone would rather do the Ducs Fly South.

A few friends and I were planning on heading down to the tail at the end of April. I will see if they want to postpone to when you are all planning on heading down there. It would definitely be cool to meet some people from the forum. We would be coming out of south central PA.

If I were going to be around, I'd certainly be up for any of those dates.

Please keep us current with dates.  I'm planning on getting up to Suches this summer with as much frequency as possible.  This would be a better excuse than most I come up with! [moto]

if you can change your dates let me know. we can meet up with you out in central PA later at night on the 12th prob and head down the next day.

i was planning on taking the BRP as far as i could so we would have to find a place to stay on thurs night.
my hotel res doesn't start until sat so if we get to DG fri lethe and i would need to find accomodations.

Hey TAftonomos you trailing or doing the whole ride up? Probably the closest DMFer to you reside in Atlanta as well. Would love to do the ride but can only stay through Friday the 16th.

Dunno really... I only have one car that is setup for a trailer, and that leaves the wife and kids without the family truckster.

Being that I'll probably be on the st4, unless I can find someone else headed that way, I'll be riding :)  Won't be that bad, I rode the thing back from TX with that stock crappy seat.

I start about 20 mins south of Atlanta, ride up 75/400 to where the trailers park.  From that point on, no idea!

Is 400 the best way to go? I thought you had to head over more east.

i have no idea where it is that people park the trailers.

Yup, Fontana it is.

The top of 400 is where a bunch of people plan on parking trailers.  I'm not going to leave an empty (or full) trailer unattended for a weekend anywhere public, so I'll be riding.  Anyone coming up through ATL PM me and we can work out trailer parking at my place if you like.

i don't see a 400 off of 75N, but I might jsut be missing something here.

Might be 85....actually it is.  That one goes NE after Atlanta, 75 goes NW.

That was me.  Unfortunately my company rescheduled our quarterly management meeting from the 6 & 7th to the 13 & 14th.   [bang] I've been pouting around the house and gazingly longingly into the Monster's big, sad, disappointed headlight since wed. last week.  So I'm out for the trip. :'(  The reschedule totally hosed me for some good riding this month. 

If anybody is thinking of doing it again next month post up!  I try to do a mountain trip every month during the summer.

Always another time bro.  Just lemme know when and where.

Looking forward to meeting whomever is going.  I won't have the s4r done, but will be on that 999 I posted pics of.

Actually, the first day I felt some bad ju-ju.  Hyper rider went down 3 turns into the ride, ST got hit by a harley, etc..
I blew a corner in the dragon, and then packed it in.  After a nap, I felt like a new person, and went out/attacked it fairly good.  The bridgestone Q2's were awesome, never giving a hint of squirming at all at somewhat sane street speeds.  

Bill69 came with as well, andl is quite a good rider (came with on his S2r).  He has a level of maturity that I wish I had!  Lots of fun was had by all.  

Second day here (sat) was awesome.  Started with a local guy leading us on a very tight set of twisties.  I experianced my first "unsettleing" moment hitting some bumps mid-corner, but the wsbk ohlins soaked it up well and I continued on unfazed.   Later, we would encounter torrential downpour, good mexican food and company.  Riding home one in our group ended up with a cut tire, and a resque/recovery mission ensued.  We ate, drank, and now I'm headed off to bed.  Riding back early to try and beat the rain home.

We'll be doing this again next year, but hopefully we won't have to wait that long!

i haven't heard from our group that wentr down. they all got there yesterday

i'm sure they are fine and having a blast without me  :'(

Thanks for the report.  Glad everybody had fun.  The pucker moments and impromptu "rescue" are all part of the fun.  Next time I'm in!
