Title: rattling/ticking noise....
Post by: rsoffar on May 31, 2008, 02:46:32 PM
i recently got a 2000 750 from a guy and it has started to get a rattle/ticking noise whenever i let off the throttle....
when i pull in the clutch the noise goes away.
its fine when im on the throttle... or maybe i just cant hear it but i think the noise is not there.

we dont know the background of the bike at all cause the guy i bought it from got it from his wrecker company when the owner never picked it up.
im just not really sure what to think of this, i plan on taking it in when i can afford it but right now thats not an option for me.

Can you identify which side of the bike the noise is coming from?

When your riding, kill the engine and just roll own the street with the clutch pulled in. Do you still hear it? (do it somewhere thats empty and safe)

hey thanks for the reply guys... we actually got it figured out, my chain was too loose but we got it tightened up and it rides great again.  [thumbsup]
