Saw this on the news this morning. Rockslide at The Dragon, and some guy didn't see it [bang]http://www.cnn.com/video/#/video/us/2010/03/15/von.tn.rock.slide.wbir?iref=allsearch (http://www.cnn.com/video/#/video/us/2010/03/15/von.tn.rock.slide.wbir?iref=allsearch)
What I don't get is he shifted into reverse while going over? How does that happen?

Probably a piece of rock pushed the trans linkage into reverse
*In my best Haley Joel Osment voice*
"I see dumb people..."
AAAAAAaaaaahahahahahaha.
Don't know about idiot.
If you didn't see then you didn't see it.
No?
did he come from around a bend? It didn't look like he was going to fast.
Perhaps he was looking at the lights on the Police Cruiser, which distracted him then by the time he looked back at the road "I didn't see it"
Can't believe he wasn't hard enough on the brakes to lock it up. Kinda like upon approach he said "well make the beast with two backs it." and then turned up the radio
I haaate when people slow down to look and inspect vehicle accidents or when someone gets pulled over. Its none of your damn business, move along.
What a f#@king dumbass. If you look at the vid close you will see that the rockslide is not hidden around a bend, the road is straight leading into it! Clear as day! That's the clueless cage driver you don't want to share the road with. That's the same line he will tell the officer after he hits a motorcycle rider. Was he on the cell? Texting? Taking a phone pic of his dog in the front seat? Just glad he didn't hurt a hightway dept. clean up crew or officer.
I'm sure he's going to tell the insurance company his accelerator pedal was stuck on the floor board. [laugh] No? [popcorn]
Hey, it worked for the Toyotas!

and the transmission is so messed up that reverse is forward now too! Must be the electronics
[laugh] [clap]
I like to think his dog in the car was thinking, "John, what the hell man?!"
More evidence of why flying cars never came to be.
Brilliant Mr. Magoo is alive and well....
driving by sense of feel is a piss poor substitute for using the other senses
reminds me that the true challenge of Deals Gap is the other drivers and riders

yeah maybe I should have narrowed it down to sight and sound as good navigating tools to employ
although some of my most valuable riding lessons involved the taste and smell of dirt and shrubbery [cheeky]

Never buy foliage at a nursery when riding the bike? ;D
he was likely distracted by the news crew and/or the patrol car.
another example of a bad driver, sad but true.
