Title: S*R tube rearsets...
Post by: TAftonomos on March 17, 2010, 04:48:40 PM
Going to be making myself a set, and of course I'm trying to do it the hard way (or at least thinking about it)..

What wall thickness would I need to support my fat arse standing on the pegs?  I'll be using the swingarm pivot mount, the rear most stock mount, and of course the peg will sit back.

The tube I was/am looking at is Ti, but it's hard to find cheap stuff, so the selection is limited.  .071 is about the thickest I can find in 5/8" diameter, which is the size I'd like to use.

Thoughts?

That's pretty thick IMO.

I think you could go thinner.

I could be wrong, but I don't think Doug built frames from .071...032 sounds like it...

I guess it depends somewhat on the diameter also.

Keep in mind...

I'm a painter.
