Title: Favourite route in South East OH from ride yesterday
Post by: ab on March 21, 2010, 04:13:01 PM
Just thought to share a ride experience yesterday..... (took some video).  I highly recommend it for those in the area.

Just found a new awesome twisty route south-east OH - ROUTE 255.
Just rode it yesterday with a friend on his Triumph speed triple and me on my 620 Monster.  I tell you it was awesome.  Until the time, my pegs crapped out on a pit stop and had to cut the wire and connect them to make the bike rideable (noticed the bike was not quite parked right) Last time on the exact same spot almost I had a flat tire (cursed place I guess).
I am sore from all the ride yesterday.
Started at 10am and got back 10pm almost.  Riding at night with the crappy headlights on route 37 was awful experience that I don't plan repeating.
Is there anyway to mark the route in google.  Here goes the routes we took from Columbus (made about 3  stops for gas fill up)
I-70E
R40 Zanesville (first Zanesville exit)
R555 South (nice nice always except gravel etc this early in season)
Route 78 East
Route 536 South  (lots of tight twisty. used to be favourite but 255 wins now.  It was too much gravel this time )
Route 7 West
Route 255 West ( lots of twisty.  awesome awesome awesome)
Route 800 North
Route 78  West ( nice swerves.. )
Route 555 North
Route 37 West
Route 33
Back to town I-71

I'm not familiar w, that particular stretch of road .

Can you name any towns or cities that you went through on that special road ?

Remind me how much the sales tax is there and how much is a 3000 square foot home and the price of premium gasoline and the traffic.

I can ride 125-150 miles on the nicest twisty , hilly , woodsy roads and maybe not even see a  [leo] and maybe only pass 10 other vehicles and go as fast as I dare.

Got any of that in San Fran ?

I ride 12 months a year.
Median income is 90k/year (yes really) so I can afford the rent (I'm 26)
We have long ocean-side rides (highway 1), twisties through some of the most beautiful areas I've ever seen.. (muir woods (google it) and the ride down to Alice's....)

A large ducati-owning population

I recommend looking at http://ducatimonsterforum.org/index.php?topic=562.0 (http://ducatimonsterforum.org/index.php?topic=562.0)

I would have loved to have a monster in Ohio.. but riding 6-8 months a year (uncomfortably), it's either too hot, too cold, raining, leaves on the road... snow, etc.. sucks

It seems the [leo] in San Francisco (bay area in general) treat motorcyclists differently than in Ohio... I've had a motorcycle cop pull up beside me, wave, then pull over the car that cut me off and almost hit me.. (in front)

In ohio.. they looked for an excuse to pull me over.. (personal opinion)

Argument over. :)

Dolph     :)

I was too preoccupied watching the lead bike   [roll]  but the main stops were at
Marietta and Woodsbridge or  (something) near the border to West Virginia.

Yep, practically no cars.  Saw for the first time  [leo] and we were over the speed limit but he did not even bat an eye.
R255, such a nice clean of gravel road and for a bit I thought I was in twilight zone. No homes, no cars nothing.

I will map the route in google map and post up shortly.

There has got to be an easy way to use google map to manually map my route.  I get to a certain stage draging the pins and then it just re-routes it.   [bang]
